Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has died of a suicide aged 61 | Daily Mail Online

The celebrity chef was the host of the network's travel food show, Parts Unknown, and was filming an upcoming episode France when he was found dead Friday morning.

Bourdain's close friend Eric Ripert, owner of New York City's famed Le Bernardin restaurant, found him unresponsive in his hotel room Friday morning.

I say so because he was a lot more culturally relevant in the present day than Kate Spade was. He was a major CNN star.

Wow that hurts the soul, knowing how close those two were.

Depression can have an effect on anyone. Get help if you need it.

Didn't really watch his show until recently, but I thought he was excellent. He had that distinct voice and presense to him. This is one of the more shocking, unexpected celebrity deaths for me. Only 61...he had so much more to give and see.

For the past two years, Bourdain has been dating actress Asia Argento, one of Harvey Weinstein's accusers. Bourdain has been an outspoken critic of Weinstein and a supporter of the #MeToo movement. Earlier this week Argento was photographed laughing with reporter Hugo Clement in the streets of Paris. It's unknown if she and Bourdain were still together at the time of his death.
