Mango - Beau - Leonard!
I believe they will indoctrinate Leonard on the 4th line to play with Dowd. He is great at brining people into the system and team. Protects him a bit too. But yeah, he can work his way up to third line and i think that is where he plays in 2025-6 as i don’t think we mess with top 6. They don’t have to put him in a top 6 role which is a nice luxury.

He’s fast, he’s a tenacious forechecker, he’s defensively formidable, he likes to hit, and he will pot mid-teens in goals.

He’s definitely going to start on 3rd line.

Mangie - Beau - Leonard could be a thing as the season ends, going into the loffs.

That could be saucy.
Quoting oneself is always a slippery slope. But?

The same with "weak drafts" lol it's a way for people to make themselves feel better about poor asset management.

As far as the trade goes, eh whatever, I guess we'll see what he brings but you have to imagine his numbers this year are quite inflated having spent more time with 87 as his center than any other on the Pens. I hope he's great and leads us to the Stanley cup! But if not, another turd of a deadline move for us where we pissed away an opportunity to continue to inflate our prospect pool as one of the best drafting teams in the NHL currently.
“negative Nancy” sir. I mean, come on?

McMichael getting back on a roll makes a more modest add like Beauvillier all the more sensible at the moment. We'll see if that holds in crunch time. I like Beauvillier's sense but I don't think talk of him moving to center is going to happen. They like and trust Eller for a reason. If someone goes down it may happen out of necessity but other than that I don't expect it.

As long as Beau is working with the Dowd line they might as well keep it going. Leonard in for Raddysh seems like the way to go when the time comes. Leonard slides into Raddysh's PP2 role and his play overall will help determine whether they call that line more often or they otherwise find ways to get him more ice-time.

I think Beauvillier will move to third line when Leonard arrives. And Leonard will do his welcome orientation with Down and Duhaime as well. I’d like to see him in the bumper on PP2.

I think Mangi will come out before Raddysh.

Also, I’d just like to see him play center and see if he can be that guy. Certainly Eller’s spot come playoff time.

How do you feel, now? Granted very small game sample size, but the results are promising?
Yeah he's doing well. Seems to be fitting well with the team / line mates.

I've only been watching highlights for the last couple of weeks so can only go by that.

7 gp - 2 g 2 a 4 pts seems good production for 12 mins a game on the 4th line.

Come on what? I still don't like the trade weeks later and feel the same about it. He's playing well but so is the whole team. Don't hate the player, hate the value.
Sometimes you gotta push your chips to the middle of the table. The Caps pushed a shorter stack than many other contenders and got an upgrade. Maybe you could argue they were already fully formed with Frank and then Leonard to come. As for me, I like having the extra asset in the playoffs.

60th pick in a shit draft? I mean, sure, I guess that’s a price to be worried about? I dunno. Would I have traded Muggli instead? Isn’t that the same range?

I’d really like to see Beauvillier play center a couple of games, even if it is just to rest Eller. not saying he needs it but he could sit a couple of games before playoff run. See how he looks at center.

Beauvillier is not a center and they are not going to rest Eller.

People really need to move on in the "Eller 3c" stages of grief ... acceptance is the only way out

as a fellow board Caps fan just haha'd my initial reaction for this trade I feel required to admit I might have overreacted a bit. But gotta understand the context, it was the TDL-pumphype talking, not me! :)

As others, Ive liked Beauvillier so far. Smart player. Looks like a good fit.

I dont think he necessarily is the quickest guy in the world as many have complimented his quick feets, but he knows well when to take advantage on getting his feet going. Thats team cohesion too, reason why even Protas et al look quick time to time. Our team is great at recognizing how to find guys on getting at optimal speed/position against the defending team. That makes everyone in our team look faster and more dangerous than they maybe actually are, sortish.

My initial problem wasnt with Beauvillier anyways, it was more about already existing internal depth and wasting value for a not-need-based grab. Fortunately Beauvillier has been good to justify using that value, so great. Our FO gets another +.

The positive problem with that is where does Leonard spot in.?
