The Kings need to trade Kopitar and Doughty if they want to contend this coming season. Their presence prevents the team from filling out the roster as needed to contend in the playoffs.
The problem with Doughty is he sucks at defense, sucks at moving the puck, still thinks something is going to happen when he's behind the other teams net.You are about 4-7 years too late.
Serious or not, i'm not sure why anyone mentions Kopi as a trade. It's NEVER going to happen.
Same with Drew in that it is not happening -- unless it is Drew that wants to leave and forces their hands to trade him.

Do you let him tank the PP or do you deal with mopey Doughty not on the PP?
Doughty, Clarke, Spence down the right needs someone with size that can PK.
Going to hinder Clarke & Spence's development by taking opportunities away from them.
Only hope is to Lucic him this off-season.
Kopi is fine. He's not blocking anyone. Probably give someone else the C.
This is where I'm at. LA won't be moving those two guys even if would benefit the team long term. Kopitar would be an excellent 3C and Doughty would be a good 2nd pairing guy with both guys getting reduced minutes. Like the Sharks did with Thornton and Vlasic. The only part of his game now that I think is entering the "he sucks" territory is his ability on the PP, Drew never should see 1st unit PP time ever again for this team. And it was damaging to Clarke to not be allowed to assume that role by now.
He doesn't suck at defense, he has fallen off a great amount, but he is still a solid 2nd pairing veteran defenseman. You are just holding him to his Hall of Fame standards he set for himself in his prime.
This is where I think Kopitar and Doughty are treated a bit unfairly, these guys will be 38 and 36 next season, they should not be expected to be a 1C and a 1D. Blame the management, development or scouting teams for not finding replacements to let them finish their careers in spots that more fit with their current skill-level.
Never could shoot. Never could hold the blue line. Never could dominate physically. Lots on this resume for a guy who could 'never' do anything. This place is gold and Kontos is totally trolling.Never could shoot. Never could hold the blue line. Never could dominate physically. Never could fight.
He sure could always talk shit though.
Doughty's been mailing it in for two years at least and should have been traded five yrs ago when we could have got something for him
Not seeing a whole lot after '14 that really matters. Which is where the problem is.Lots on this resume for a guy who could 'never' do anything. This place is gold and Kontos is totally trolling.

Very sad news. My thoughts are with him and his family.
On his CURRENT contract. You know the extension is gonna happen.Kopitar is approaching his last year*
Your quote: “This team had a 105 points last year, they aren't trading away their best player. FFS”I'm sorry, what point are you trying to make? That FLA traded a 100-point scorer (Huberdeau)......for a 100-point scorer (Tkachuk)?
Bold move!
Bro, now you are just….what do the cool kids around here call it, arguing in bad faith? You know as well as I do, the whackjob, bipolar dimension we are visiting here wasn’t looking to trade Kempe for an equal value player…it’s all prospects and picks for the magic rebuild!Your quote: “This team had a 105 points last year, they aren't trading away their best player. Somehow you think people are advocating trading Kempe for nothing.
When I suggested it as something I’d do, I wanted a younger roster player with decent upside. Someone that fitted the Byfield/Clarks ‘new core’.Bro, now you are just….what do the cool kids around here call it, arguing in bad faith? (Let’s bring back ‘strawman’ too, that was fun when it was used it like every other post!)
Exactly, and I’ll stick with my original response….what team would do that? When I suggested it as something I’d do, I wanted a younger roster player with decent upside. Someone that fitted the Byfield/Clarks ‘new core’.
A team that has the objectivity to know it’s not close, that knows it’s fine to regroup and use assets properly.Exactly, and I’ll stick with my original response….what team would do that?
Holluc TuaHolluc?
Doesnt ring the same as Bluc. Bluc was a great nickname, kind of similar to a four letter swear word.
Me and that one person who really likes toughness (Johnny Utah?) both were pushing heavy for Jonah Gadjovich around this time last year.
A goal and an assist in 3 playoff games for the Panthers, just had a 9 hit game in todays 6-1 win over Toronto.
Jeannot/Helenius/Gadjovich would've been a MENACE against EDM.
