Speculation: Another year of this Bluc **** (The 2024 season thread)

to me, it's more like the point of the post was to compare 2 teams in the same situation and it's like.. not 2 teams in the same situation
so funny. How about his next post:

An NHL has lost four straight years in playoffs. That team, the Edmonton Oilers. See -- we're the same (Just like them!).

Hmm interesting.

Every move Blake made this past year was really good. Kuzmenko, Jeannot, Foegele, Edmundson, and Kuemper, were all great adds.

I'm more nervous on what the new GM will end up doing. It's the same coach so don't expect Spence to suddenly start playing 25 minutes a night.

New GM could likely need to a new coach.

DL inherited prime kopitar DD and quick. blake inherited the mess that DL left behind
Incorrect.

Lombardi inherited young and unproven core players and turned them into champions by acknowledging their weaknesses and augmenting the team appropriately. It was incredibly expensive, but it was the only way to turn them into champions.

Blake inherited PRIME cup core players and couldn't accept their shortcomings and surrounded them with filler - because that's all they could afford with a bankrupt asset list - until their primes ended and they needed to rebuild.

The correct path for Blake was to recognize the obvious upcoming struggles and retool immediately instead of doubling down on the wrong players. Kopitar HAD to be dealt instead of extended, it was the only way out of a ceiling of mediocrity for the foreseeable future. Yet they kept trying to ride on Lombardi's success and goodwill, and here we are over 10 years later with the most likely outcome playing out exactly as expected

It feels like is this just the rumors that Blake was going to retire after his contract was up coming to pass.

They say the search will begin immediately which I assume means Luc will promote Nelson Emerson and call it a day early.
