Speculation: Another year of this Bluc **** (The 2024 season thread)

I f***in loved Kelly Buchberger.
Got to meet Kelly at a firing range in Regina Saskatchewan 20 years ago. He was with the fitness instructor from the Provincial
Police college. Absolutely shredded and funny human being but not overly big. He was very lean muscle. Met Ivanan’s a while later ( roomed with my cousin in the AHL). He was totally shredded too but it was heavy muscle. He was just a beast.

Let’s just say very time Kelly fought I thought he was brave, every time Ivanans did, I just prayed he wouldn’t kill the guy he was fighting. So much power in that man. It was scary.

Pretty amazing how Hiller figured something out by putting Lewis on the bench, playing Clarke and playing Byfield big minutes (& in OT). It's like Hiller can see things before anyone else can.

I really can't figure out this team. For a couple weeks they look great like the 100+ point regular season team's that someone loves so much. Then a week or two of crummy hockey. Just a weird season. Like this website -- who knows what you are going to get.

Byfield is awesome. Loved him when he was drafted....loved him when he wasn't getting much of a shot....loved him when he couldn't shot the puck into the ocean....and love him now as he's becoming The Man.

I think funky said it and it's true -- Kuemper is the MVP this season and it's not close. Blake somehow fell like a drunk sailor into Kuemper and it's saved him -- and this team. This season would have been a disaster without Kuemper.

I feel like i'm getting played again by the Kings like the last couple years. But i feel like they can and will win a series or two in the playoffs this year. It'll be different. Or maybe i'm the idiot boyfriend continuing to overlook my girl's cheating ways and taking her back time & time again. lol.

Yeah man, you’ve got battered woman syndrome.

Don’t worry, this team will have a few too many cocktails, and come home to beat the shit outta your happiness again soon.

It's tough to see any team playing this style of hockey and beating the Oilers. The big guys are going to get theirs, which puts you in a position where you have to shut down everyone else to win a series of 3-2 and 2-1 games.

I believe the Kings have a better chance of shutting down Vegas and grinding out a series win, but with the Oilers, it feels like it will just be more of the same from previous years. That team was, and still is, the worst possible matchup for the Kings in the entire NHL, which really sucks when it comes to divisional playoffs.

Which makes the situation all the more frustrating.

Entering year 4 of staring at the same matchup, with the same problems, and likely the same outcome.

Managerial failure of the highest magnitude.

You cant win a series with a PP at 15% unless the other teams is close to that bad. EDM PP was 45% and LAK was 0-fer in 2024 series.

So I see that the insane asylum was emptied during the crash?

I am the most anti-censorship person alive, so I don't really have an issue with it. But these guys will do what they do and end up right back in there.

Isn't it amazing that 99% of people, some who have been posting for 2 decades have never been banned from this forum, but others can't go weeks without being banned?

Although I'd love to continue my convo with you know who before he was banned, it consisted of the guy who called Alex Turcotte the next Mike Richards, calling me out, the person who called him the next Andrew Copp to point out how wrong I was following Turcotte's 3 point game vs Vancouver. Because you know, he's way closer to Mike Richards than Andrew Copp.

The type of intellect and complete lack of awareness one deals with from these types of people is truly all-time.

Kings have about 24M in cap space headed into the offseason.

After re-signing Gavrikov, Laferriere, a backup goalie, and paying bonuses/penalties, LA should have about 12M in cap space to make a move.

Remaining UFAs would be:
Kuzmenko
Jeannot

*Assuming Lewis and Rittich won't be re-signed.

Kuz needs to be extended, not much out there and nothing that can be had in his price range.

I think Blake should do it ASAP and for cheaper before he starts cashing in on good play with points.

Some say no way but I think term would get him to sign.

Once again look at list of FA's, it shocking sparse.

Jeannot may be a bit of an overpay but he fits with guys and stands up.

I don't care about the fight outcomes, winning the game and teammates appreciation go together.

I also think Jeannot can do more offensively.

He has disappointed me there but 4th line, it's not easy.

I think he slots in higher if needed.

If you are betting through this site , you are very unlikely to be banned.

Waiting on my tax refund.

Wow cool stories.

Glad we share similar careers, presumably.

Ya the fighting is gnar gnar against these guys.

Standing up to them just for standing up for yourself is bravery.

Some of the young guys look intimidated at times and I don't blame em.

They will grow into it, just as we are seeing with our young gems now.

Watching from the stands or the tube does not do it justice.

Might as well cheer for the team, and be positive.

People here are too quick to sour on the organization and it's individuals.

The NHL is tough a lot of parity , run of form and injuries.

I think many came in around the cup years and got spoiled.

Guys watching since the 60's and 70's like me get it.

Hey it's an exciting time, seeing Kopi early on this season, Doughty come back and play for Canada and have good form and the developing youths, key acquisitions is exciting.

A few of us called Kuemper MVP, said those acquired were good and Byfield would be all right.

It takes work to stay married and if you are burned out you should want a divorce you should leave, realize that.

You once again equate not supporting the management team and the results they have produced with not being a real fan.

To quick to sour? This is year eight of Blake and Robitaille being in charge, and it has produced zero playoff wins, and the highest regular season finish being 3rd in the division. Out of curiosity, how long is the right amount of time to sour. Is it 10 years? 12 years? 15 years? Never?

You can look at join dates and clearly see that many of the people you claim to be bandwagon hoppers who were spoiled by success have been posting here well before 2012. You joined in 2022 and you are telling people that joined twenty years before you that they are fake fans, once again the lack of awareness is astonishing.

I put you on ignore.

I was barely reading then skipping your posts.

I have heard you spiels too much.

And...

Bye!

Things aren’t going well let’s just ignore them and wait til they get better? Some of us make our own living and don’t live in fairy tail land. So that ketchup isn’t going back in the bottle.

Too quick? I think 8 years is enough to form a valid consensus on their performance. You can’t ignore the patterns between their management and playing careers.

The NHL is hard? Of course it is that’s why winning is worth a damn.

I’m not going to shit on the guys that came in around the cup years for wanting to win every year. In fact I like their expectation level. For the record I’ve been watching since I was 8 in 1988.

Watching Kopitar and Drew limp along is liking watching your grandparents fade away. Let them quit going to work every day they are old!

You guys call every new guy an MVP and you have been saying Byfield is going to break out every year he’s in camp. Those aren’t predictions they are hopes and hype. Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.

Being a Kings fan isn’t a marriage. It’s a acid trip.

Took me 44 yrs of my hometown team being the laughingstock of the nhl to sour and as soon as championship mgmt and team is put together the best team that ever happened to the kings is stabbed in the back by a group of brain dead ex jocks that not only screwed the team in thier playing days they screwed the team, ownership and fans by creating mediocrity and ensured retirement as goals. Mediocrity as as a goal is loser goalsetting. Why cant we set a goal as championships? Why not us?
I'll always be a fan of the kings. But i'll be goddamned if i cant comment and think critically and evaluate them in all aspects.
