Kings are middle of the pack (17th) in goals for per game (3.00).Only one person is consistently doing offense. It’s much deeper than you want to admit. I don’t care if he’s not playing defense since the entire team is only playing that. That’s why no one takes one way teams seriously. Like Toronto has always been high offense no defense. Kings are a joke offensively because Hiller makes them play like that and people get impressed by the defensive stats when that’s the only thing they do so it’s meaningless
Whataboutismpeople whining about fiala not being able to fit the kings system. but also upset that kaliyev is gone haha.

That one person is Kempe. Fiala is definitely not doing enough and not producing enough. Fiala is definitely not himself but my point went to the entire premise is that the entire team sucks besides Kempe for the most part. Kempe has been the consistent bright spot on this team this year.Well yeah because if literally ANY king was afforded the same opportunities Fiala was it would be a monumental occasion. He's just taking PLDs spot as "huge investment we need to justify the return on so give him everything he wants and needs and no responsibility or accountability."
It really puts it in perspective what players have leash and who doesn't and yeah that's part of the reason we're so mad about shipping out Kaliyev, not even trying Fagemo, putting in Thomas, etc...instead you're double shifting a guy
Which one is that? Because it isn't Fiala.
He has the same amount of points as Foegele, one more than Brandt Clarke. Despite the cushiest possible deployment, he's 160th in the league in scoring,
It's even worse at even strength. where he's 340th in the league in scoring, same amount of ES points as Cody Ceci, Ryan McDonagh, and Philip Broberg. You might notice those are all defensively deployed Dmen. That's fewer 5v5 points than Mikey Anderson, Gavrikov, Clarke. And even fewer than guys you noticeably bag on nightly, like Byfield and Moore.
I know he's not himself right now and I'm giving him credit for that but this can't be ignored. He's a huge liability for this team in the moment. Maybe last night was the start of something positive, like Byfield a few weeks back. But until last night it appeared to be getting worse rather than better...
Like what are you even basing your defense of him on? There's not one flattering traditional or advanced stat/metric and it all backs up the eye test.
Kinda goes to my point that whether Hiller or McLellan that the Kings aren’t playing offensive hockey. They should be doing better than they are. They don’t attack nearly as much as they should be and that’s coaching.Kings are middle of the pack (17th) in goals for per game (3.00).
Last season, with Fiala near the top in team scoring, the Kings were 16th in goals for per game (3.10).
So, they remain middle of the pack offensively with or without Fiala carrying the offense. And this was with McLellan coaching most of tbe season.
I keep hoping that the more we complain about Fiala the more likely it is he breaks out to shut us up.
Use to work like a charm with Dustin Brown.
