It will get better when Doughty gets a new 3-year deal in 2027.

Luc and Rob are a waste of time and money.
Feels like a round one win is realistic as long as it’s not the Oilers or Vegas. With Doughty coming back before the TDL, things are shaping up nicely if you are wearing purple shaded glasses.
The good news is that a lot of kids are contributing at the same time as the team is winning. The bad news is that one or two of them are going to move for a short term move.
It’ll probably be an overpayment for a guy like Palmieri instead of a savvy move for an Ehlers. But who knows, maybe 8 years of half measures finally adds up to a second round berth.

I can’t help but think of how much better this team would be with Brock Faber instead of our golden retriever.

Yah a just hate having PPG wingers in our lineup - it’s such a drag! I mean we have so many, we certainly didn’t need another.

Other than Blake, what other GM's would be looking at a player that struggles getting goals, but is great at cycling? Philly with Torts for sure.
So Moore for Kakko retained tom1.5 for a year to clear cap. Kakko for Kaliyev?

Am I doing this right?
Got a month or so before Doughty getting the puck, running to the back of the net. Waiting for all the forwards to get in position & come to a complete stop before passing to Mikey who is then responsible for ripping a 2 line pass into coverage.
That will be followed up by Doughty making moves in the offensive zone. "Looking for a play"before ending up behind the offensive net. He'll get a weak shot from the side on a set goalie & realize he's behind the other teams net & the puck is leaving the zone. King's defender that's actually good at defending is completely out of the play.
Wonder how his hand is doing after the injury. Sometimes those take a year to get back. Looked like he got around to practicing his slapper because wristing the puck wasn't working anymore. Maybe Doughty will just rip a slapper (into someone's shin pads) instead of getting in the dreaded passing loop with Kopi on the PP.
Coach needs to make Kopi & Doughty stay an hour after practice & run a drill where they have 3 passes max before they have to rip a shot at the net. Not joking. PP sucks anyways so at least it'll be entertaining.

Konecny is a right shot. He fits the mold of what the King's would be looking for. Just extended. There are some other righties, but aren't scorers or Philly isn't trading them.
Risto is the other. Right shot & some offensive skills. Retained down to 2.5 million or so, he'd be a solid 3rd pair D with extra skills.
NYR falling apart & Philly now fighting for a playoff spot may complicate what Briere is looking to do.

Or you could have Snuggerud who's having a great year at Minnesota and ready to come out of college this offseason. A big tough right-handed winger who can score (what this team could use).
I'd love to pull Farabee or Laughton/Frost from them.

Lots of trade rumor chatter...and a new one that has Kings interested in Dylan Cozens.
Trade freeze coming up, Dec 20-27. Kings trip ends Dec 22 in DC. Interested to see how PLD does...and Roy, for that matter. PLD 2 goal game, incoming...and battling on the boards,
like we've never seen.
Thinking the Rangers, Flyers, Sens, may be making deals soon.
The Kings forwards core looks pretty good, atm.
If Turcotte can be an answer at LW1 and continue to produce....and QB gets going,
why make a deal now?
If Moore is going to be out for an extended time, maybe that's a concern.
Arty just played with the Reign last night and had 1 assist and a shootout goal.
I expect them to keep him there through the end of the Kings roadtrip and see
what happens with him, after Dec 22. I imagine scouts may be looking at him.
Defense has been solid and Moverare playing great....the only way Burroughs can play,
is with the stupid 11/7. England may never play a game for Kings again.
I'm surprised DD isn't skating by now...or at least haven't heard.
Cozens is intriguing, but at what price and where does he slot?
Konecny probably would cost a ton...and futures.
Farabee? If Moore will be out extended. A guy like Laughton is the type
Dean would probably have been targeting, for bottom 6. Helenius has been ok...and
better I think, than Lee, honestly. I'd rather go into round 1 with Laughton over Helenius, Lee, Thomas. The type of a player that can help win in the playoffs.
I'm not for going rental and parting with the #1, Greentree, Ziemmer, or even Woolley.
Dvorak seems like a project that will eventually replace Edmundson. I think Booth will be a player.
Goalie depth makes things interesting. Portillo, Slukynsky, George. Lots of eyes will be on George and Slukynsky at the upcoming WJC.
The only thing really sucking right now, is the PP. I would think that improves, once DD is back.
Gavi has been tremendous....I would try to resign him. He was not this good in the playoffs, but think he was not 100%. He's underrated and can play both sides. I wouldn't deal him, unless he says he will not sign. He would get a haul. But, I'd rather keep him.
So...watch the Kings go out and give up a ton for Tkachuk, Panarin, Zibanejad, Konecny...Kreider.
Because the Kings do stupid. I like Konecny, but at what cost?

Pretty fair assessment.
I definitely agree that Kaliyev gets the full 5 games in Ontario unless we hit an injury crisis. I get what you’re saying about Laughton. However I will say that all three of Helenius, Lee and Thomas very much raised their games in the post season and are very much play-off type guys imo.

It’ll be great to watch him eclipse the 40 year old barrier making 10 million a year.
Those would be good adds. Maybe they can throw in Hathaway also. If Lewis is out a while a
Jeannot-Helenius-Hathaway 4th line would be tough.
