Forsberg is signed for 5 more seasons after this one.

If the Kings want a player of his caliber we can kiss our best prospect (Greentree) and our 1st goodbye. Maybe more.

I just don't think it's worth it. We'd be wasting assets on a Kings team that has no realistic chance of contending.

Forsberg is signed yes, didn't realize that long, but when I meant short term, I meant more in productivity, he is 30 years old, he's not who you empty the cupboard for.

He seems like one of those guys who will age well, and his cap hit is pretty reasonable. Not that I'm advocating for acquiring him.

I think a low risk / high reward type move makes the most sense. Kane for a mid round pick type move. A cheap vet who might find his game with a change of scenery.

LA also needs a goaltender IMO.

How are folks feeling about turcotte at this point?

Same way I've felt for years. Will be a solid energy player that will provide sandpaper and energy and get you 8-12 goals and 25-40 points. Certainly not what the Kings expected when he was drafted, but also not a complete throw-away. Had they gotten him where they got Kaliyev, or even Bjornfot it would have been a great pick. He plays the game the right way and has an excellent motor.

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.

A faster and more skilled, but smaller and more brittle, Trevor Lewis. Also prone to costly giveaways high in the offensive zone. The kind of all purpose quality player winning teams have on the roster. I’m not opposed to moving him, but I don’t think his value is very high. Might as well keep him and let him endear himself to the fans.

Kreider would probably be a solid pickup, depending on cost, have to view him as short term though, same with Hall and even Forsberg, Tkachuk would be the only long term pickup and not sure he's worth the cost.
Tkachuk would probably cost Byfield + 1st + top prospect…that’s just my feeling. Maybe last year it’s Byfield + prospect.

He's excelled...especially as LW1 or with Laferriere. He was closest to scoring on Quick...no one scored on him...he would have had 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 pts, +2.

He's never played more than 18 games in a season and that was bottom 6, mostly,
I still think he's a center. I would leave him with Kopitar and Kempe. Why not?
11 pts, +10. Making plays, nice passes, getting shots off. He's not a bottom 6 player.

Q had 40 games and 5 goals, 5 assists, in his first real stint. This is really Turcotte's first real stint.
If he plays center, it will be 4C right now and he's too good for that. He's produced up top.
Maybe when Kopi, Phil are gone, he's #3C. I think he would not disappoint as #2C, by then.
He is still ramping up. I joined Cam Robinson's elite prospect sites and asked him where he had
Turcotte in the 2019 draft...think he said 3rd OA. Sure, he may never live up to that, but he's
a helluva player and think he'll be scoring 40 pts for sure. I bet he could do it this yr, if he stays LW1 and gets some PP time....but over 30 for sure.

I agree. That said, if he stays healthy his contract will end up one of the best in terms of value in the league.
