Makes me miss what could have been--turcotte, byfield, vilardi. I mean we saw an early version of that with iafallo instead of turcotte and it's got a little bit of everything.

Turcotte was the engine for the Zegras Kaliyev line in the WJC and that's looking apparent right about now. He did all the dirty work for TZ and that wasn't a popular opinion--even on THIS board--at the time.

he's the ultimate support player.

He plays team hockey, station to station support until the puck is in a dangerous position. I thought he deferred way too much with Kopitar and Kempe, but he was especially effective with Laferriere and Foegle.

Not sure the best place to post this so here goes: does anyone have a clip of Quick high-fiving players coming off the ice after the 7-2 loss against the Sharks in G2 of the first round in 2014? (At least I think it was that game?) I can't seem to find it on youtube. Thanks in advance!

Trying to use it to illustrate Quick's mentality in the 'Top 60 Goaltenders of All Time' project over on the History of Hockey board. He's been up for discussion the last two rounds.

I know what you're talkign about and I'll try to find it--i think it was maybe even don cherry? during a tsn/sportsnet telecast talking about it. It was the same segment in which they were chastising McLellan for rolling out his PP1 when up 7-2 or whatever with like 3 minutes left lol

Moverare & Spence are killing it.
Risto looking good too!!!

Spence did this with Englund of all people last year, too

I'm excited to see what he looks like on the other end of these growing pains, dude has been growing steadily every year at every level and this is one of the first real plateaus he has to break thru.

i just wish spence would try and do something besides hammer the puck through the back glass every time he gets a chance

don't get me wrong his shot is insanely powerful for his size but he's gotta hit the net

Behind the net
Byfield was supposed to pick up where Kopitar left at least according to non Kings fans, 10 points this year meanwhile Kopitar has 27 and is to no ones surprise again over PPG and just great. Will he? And what does he need to improve on to become the #1C in LA?

(OFC im not saying he should or will be Kopitar, those kinds of players dont grow on trees...)

whens drew coming back. whos sits when he comes back.
Good question, I reckon it'll be:

Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Clarke
Edmundson-Spence

Maybe switch up Gavrikov and Edmundson (didn't he mainly play with Clarke?). Moverare, Englund, and Burroughs as the backup D's. Its too bad because I think Moverare should be on that last pair with Spence so he can continue to get ice time and develop in the big league.
