Habs announced that Dach had Right Knee Surgery and is out for the rest of the season.

The former 3rd overall is just getting decimated by injuries thus far in his young career.

Hoping for a healthy career the rest of the way.

Sucks for the kid, i feel but tbh he's really nothing special. This won't really impact the Habs long term.

...was extremely excited when the Habs got this kid...now I'm wondering if half of his salary goes towards duct tape to keep him together...

He started off well after he was acquired from Chicago, but then got injured. Apparently, it’s the same knee. His career is in jeopardy.
He has one more year left to try and get healthy and show some value. At this point, I doubt Montreal will qualify him and then it's pretty likely he's looking at a 2-way contract or PTO to try and show he's got something left.

Very shit news. It’s the same knee as last year, but Habs aren’t saying anything more except he’ll be ready for next year.
As many have posted, he’s shown flashes since coming into the league but can’t put it together. Medical professionals have said it takes a long time to come back from reconstructive surgery and now he’s back under the knife again 😔.
I don’t think he’s shown enough of a 200 foot game to be a quality 2C.
Add this bad news, and I think Habs will move him to the wing and see what he can do there in a top 9 role.
Regardless the 2C position becomes the priority and Habs have the assets to find one.
Michael Hage is 3 years away and demidov is not a C imo. Beck has been impressive but I think he’s a 3C.

Habs may now have to sign Evans. Interesting summer ahead

Fabbri has had close to the same amount of knee injuries and can still play... not saying it's a route you want any player to take but there is still a path to a career for him.

Is it the ACL? I always think of Milan Michalek, guy had 2 ACL repairs before he even became a regular NHLer, then 3 more as an NHLer, and still kept coming back. A hurdle but not the career-ender if you’re good.

He looked good for the first year or so with the Hawks outside of him seemingly taking a big hit every single game. Sucks, but not terribly surprising, that his body couldn't keep up.

“If you’re good” being the key piece here
