Post-Game Talk: Another craptacular display: Sens 5-2 win

I bet Kovalchuk wouldn't have left if Lemaire was still the coach instead of Pete.

I really would like to forget about that POS Kovalchuk, but Pete's conversion of him to RW really annoyed the hell out of me. I can't believe these coaches think they can change the position of a 10 year veteran like that. **** Deboer.:rant:

Game over. Sens win 5-2. Devils (0-4-3) remain only team in NHL without a win in 2013-14.

I can't believe DeBoer hasn't been fired yet. He owns two of the worst records in Devils history (longest losing streak, worst start to a season) and they came within one year.

Still ahead of Philly!

He also had Parise on his opposite wing. He had garbage on his LW in 2013 and it wasn't working.

Yup. What was annoying was when the Devils couldn't score, he still did nothing to switch it up. Didn't even think about putting Kovalchuk at left wing.

I always said it was like one of those ''Under no circumstances'' situations with Deboer.

honestly, its looking like DeBoer has a free pass. I dont expect him to get fired at all this season now. unless we go full on super-streak

I'm not thinking that way honestly. I think he goes if we are winless after 10. If he does last and we're winless after 10, it won't be much longer.

I would say Thanksgiving at the latest unless we turn it around.

It's going to be whenever the first vet shows signs of cracking to the media.

JMac wasn't in trouble until captain mutiny started acting up.

Providence Fayne in the doghouse won't help his cause with Lou, but if, after the 10 game eval Patty or Jagr or Sal or someone like that questions what is going on in the lockerroom, Lou will give it a close look.

We don't have the personalities here for that Billington. There is no John Madden. There's not even an Ilya Kovalchuk here, who was just an *******. He would bluntly tell you what was on his mind.

What we have is a very quiet captain, a very quiet A who turned down captaincy because he's not vocal, and 2 other alternating quiet As.

I don't know the clout they hold in the locker room or if they speak up outside the media - but the impression i get is that no one is there motivating these guys to be GREAT. We don't have a stud, top player in the game who motivates both by example and by his actions. Like Kovy. Like Parise.

Kovy is a tool and no one really like him as a person, but he worked his ass off on the ice and he hated losing. And you saw it every single time we lost a game. You saw him celebrate a goal like if it was a SCF winning goal. You saw he cared and it was infectious.

We have a bunch of free agents, bunch of quiet guys, and a bunch of young guys. Where's the kick in the pants coming from?

To be fair, though, Captain Mutiny would've acted up no matter who the coach was...eventually.

Schneider spoke up about their **** play. I hope he gets even more pissed. He's a waste on this team right now.

I don't get why everyone's ALREADY so pessimistic about Schnieder staying after seven games. Especially since it's not like he's going to get the pick of the litter as far as where he can play regardless.

The constant losing would wear on a player after awhile, NJDevs.

If the Devils do not turn it around soon, this may end up playing a big factor in negotiations later....

He's also experimenting with Henrique on the wings now isn't he?

In the magical 2011-12 season, in October the Devils we're 4-4-1 with 9 points after 9 games.
This season they are 0-4-3 with 3 points so far. If they win the next 2 games, they would be 2-4-3 with 7 points, only 2 points behind the 2012 cup run year. Also, if we had won two measly shootouts, we would be 2-4-1 right now with 7 points and could technically be ahead of 2011-12 if we win the next two games on top of that.

Don't forget they are playing a condensed schedule due to the Olympics. 12 games in October compared to only 9 in 2011-12. Add to the fact that we have half a new team, give these guys a few games to gel.

Coming from a goalie it's always different though.

I wish we had a skater with a set of balls and the clout to speak up.

True, but a goalie has a pretty good grasp considering he's on the entire 60 minutes.
