In my (admittedly very limited) viewings, guy just doesn't have what it takes to play Panthers Playoff Hockey. We need more offense from the defense, but if you can't play the guy when it matters, not helpful.

There's not much else Zito can do other than try to find what's left in the bargain bin when he has couple of late round picks to trade with. I don't think that the 2026 1st round pick is in play at upcoming TDL. They have to manage without any big acquisitions for the playoffs.

Zito can offer one of our top 5 forward prospects.
Our top 6 is basically locked in until 2030.
A few of them prospects have to hold 3rd round pick value.
We've found some good 3rd round adds in the past.

Montour and Vatrano come to mind right off the bat.

I posted somewhere else that nhl.com was speculating about Penguins players and who might be targets at TDL and for whom… they picked Matt Grzelcyk for Panthers for a 4th or 5th round pick (he’ll be a UFA).
