14 forwards, one of Clifford/Nolan,Andreoff gotta go.

Guessing Clifford , he is a trade able asset at 5 years , usually players that are easily replaceable , Dean doesn't sign long but did with him maybe as a trade asset.

Clifford + Martinez once Voynov returns for a signed Staal and salary retained this year.

Most teams carry 14F on the roster. Now I have suspected they might carry less because of Ontario being so close.
But I suspect the 2 year deal is to make him less attractive to be picked up on wavers. Much like he did with Schultz last year.

A nice cheap cap hit.

I'm guessing that's not going to get Staal.

Lombardi is still Lombardi deep down. If Richards wasn't an empty jersey on the ice, he'd still be a King, even as a 4th line center, even at that cap hit. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Clifford or Martinez to be dealt.

Some posters in this thread just don't understand the value that AA brings to this team, every night, in the room.

My understanding is that he has basically come out of nowhere to be the strongest team leader in that room. How many 1-goal-a-season guys can you say that about?

AA is going to surprise a few people here. (This last line is serious. He will pot a few goals this year, and make a difference in some games.)

This is exactly right.

The Kings did the smart thing and signed him to a two year so the chance of a team picking him up off waivers is slim. Most teams pick up a guy on a one year so they can see if he works out or not.

He only played 25 games total last year between LA/Manch, but he is here working out in LA. Hopefully, he shows up in good shape and ready to make a name for himself and push Nolan and Clifford.

Schultz was long past his peak, AA will get picked up if he's on waivers. However, there is no point in keeping him if Sutter won't play him.

I think they had him play a fair number of Kings games at C. There is this conception that he can play both W and C, but he's really only a W. He's not a very good C, but with Stoll and Richards not playing well, they tried him at C, before finally opting for Shore. His best chance to play well will be at W.

Andrehoff can play center, wing, defense and goal.
He is going to take over for Bob Miller when he retires and he is going to announce games while playing in them.

Huh. I swore he would be the odd man out but I'm not sure of his status--can he start the season in Ontario? Because if not, I'm not sure this bodes well for Weal being on THIS team. We have Kopitar-Lucic-Gaborik, Pearson-Carter-Toffoli, King-Shore-Brown, Clifford-Lewis-Nolan in no particular arrangement before Andreoff. Shore is debatable I suppose but that would make Weal the 14th forward barring someone ELSE moving up or out, so...

Don't get me wrong, I like Andreoff enough, but he's an auxillary part right now unless there's more movement coming or he can chill in Ontario.
