He could have.

Want to drive a golf cart while drunk? Keep it on the golf course and off the roads away from cars.

The person in this article blew under the limit and the death happened because another passenger jerked the wheel causing it to flip, the same thing could happen on a golf course.

.071 3 hours later.
Witnesses said the cart was swerving and nearly tipped multiple times.

I still have PTSD from the last goal ever scored on Patrick Roy.

Throw the book at him. Oh wait, it was a golf cart. I thought those were for rich people who are too drunk to drive a car. I'm more educated today.

But I still have PTSD. But then it gets a little better, when I realized that as an Avs player he scored another series clinching goal for us against the Stars. But then it's gets worse when I realize that Avs team was never making it far.

Quite the sting operation. Lol. US cops are too aggressive in their motivation to get a conviction. If the cop was out there waiting, why not do the human thing and warn him not to drive the golf cart.

Maybe that wife of his should have warned him too and not let him get behind the wheel.

Is that supposed to matter to me? If you're drinking, and you choose to get behind the wheel, you are knowingly and consciously placing other people in danger because doing otherwise would be an inconvenience to you.
I’d actually have a hard time believing most people are bothered by a drunk person driving a golf cart on or near a course. Especially the ones that you most commonly find, electric powered with top speeds of like 10 mph.

A golf cart weighs in at around 1000 pounds and can be easily modified to travel in excess of 40 MPH. Not exactly a vehicle you'd want a drunk driving down a residential street.

Plus, it's Florida. It's full of old and slow grandparents easily mowed down in the crosswalks.
So unlikely. This is rich Florida, not a redneck rural town. I golf a ton, many different areas, never seen one that went above roughly 10mph.

For sale...Deerfield Beach...40-MPH golf cart.

Lol just wild stuff. I am not condoning it but how many people have been over the legal limit posting here when driving a golf cart.

In lots of places you can get a DUI with the car off with your keys in your pocket.

I know a guy who almost got a DUI sitting on the hood of his car waiting for his ride home. Two people were coming to get him one to drive him home and the other his car. The cop said being on your car with the keys was enough. Thankfully the police waited for his ride to show up.

I know another person who actually got a DUI sleeping in his back seat. He had the car running with the heat on because it was winter time in Canada and he couldn't get a ride home (small town pre uber).

Golf cart

Did you read this? While drinking and driving these is a bad idea this crash could happen at night to sober people too. It didn’t involve other vehicles or traffic.

Wait he got a DUI driving a gold cart? And people still want his head?
I came here to say this. A GOLF CART!!!!! Petty @$$ officers. I'd hire the best attorney and just destroy the DA / Prosecutor. This is almost as bad as Torts penning a letter to the Flyers fanbase. WOW. A GOLF CART! I should have about 300000 DUIS by now if a golf cart can get me a DUI. LOOOLLL

From this point forward I'm going to assume any references to drinking and driving are golf puns.

If the officers hadn't intervened he surely could've just putt putted home, probably would've even made good time if all the lights were green.

Now that all the information has come out it seems a lot of these takes weren't fairway. Pretty rough.

Have you ever lost a friend or family member due to someone driving drunk or high? Anyone who gets a DUI, especially at a work event is a moron and deserves everything they get.

It sounds like AB wasn't driving the cart on a golf course and was using roads/highways.

Driving a golf cart for short distances on the street in some communities is pretty common. I HIGHLY doubt he was using some theoretical hyper golf cart modified to do 40mph. He probably didn't even break 10mph.

He was mostly only putting himself at risk, and even then, probably about as much as he would have been if he had decided to walk home intoxicated. People in here acting like he kidnapped the Lindbergh baby

I'm more upset at the asshole cop who clearly sat around waiting for him to come out and drive so he could ticket him, rather than just preventing him from getting in the cart drunk.
