Granted the guy doesn't have huge upside, but he does need to play a few games, and obviously that's not happening in LA, so he gets to go down and play a few before he has to be recalled to sit some more...
Obviously, the Kings see something in AA or they would have waived him to get back to Manchester. We all want these players to be NHL-ready the minute they come up from the minors or junior. Most often, that isn't the case and they need time. But during that time, we're all over them (e.g. "Muffin", McNabb, etc) with "bench him", "waive him", etc. And then when they develop on another team, we end up saying "why did DL get rid of him?"
Who knows AA might or might not develop into a strong 3rd or 4th liner, but I'll stick with Dean's decisions. Two Cups in 3 years - I never thought we'd see one in my lifetime.
