You thought Melnyk was relatable? I'm not sure what that says about you but I don't think it's good, lol....
He was a guy we all met before. The wasted guy that you met at Boston Pizza who smoked a cigarette backwards. Your buddy’s drunk uncle that shows up to a cottage you’re at and dunks his head into the lake and almost falls over after emerging because of the shock to the equilibrium. The guy you meet with his wife when you’re hammered in Playa del Carmen and he keeps trying to get you and your gf to go back to your room with them. He was an everyman

That's your idea of an everyman? You've just described a drunk idiot.

Is it based on the book I read in grade 2/3.
If you read that story as a kid, you'd be one messed up kid. Matt Dillon plays a really weird serial killer and you follow him around is the best way to give an overview.

It is very hard to watch at parts but is also utterly captivating. A very cool movie.

Ha! I’m not sure this brief interaction had much in terms of noticeable facetiousness nor extreme literalness.

You definitely took things up a notch with a moderate exaggeration though so it has that at least.

Ian interviews Andlauer: 'I've done a lot of learning': Michael Andlauer reflects on first season as Senators owner

I won't siphon from behind the paywall, but mostly Andlauer talking about
  • winning is about being responsible and patient.
  • thoughts on TO fans and Greig's empty netter
  • Green selection
  • buyouts

I thought this quote was interesting, while not willing to disclose Green's salary, he did drop this tidbit,

“This coach may very well be getting paid more than what they pay for a coach in a larger market, Let’s put it this way, this coach is getting paid more than any coach in the history of the Ottawa Senators.”

Any more tidbits?

Didn't like Brady getting boo'd, loved the Ridler's slap shot on the EN,
Info on Green’s salary was interesting. That might fly in the face of what some thought, namely that they were paying a low amount for their coach.

Was there any of other interesting things about the Green selection?

Just that it's a mechanism that's there for a reason that he wouldn't be afraid to utilize if Staios felt it was necessary.
I think Staois already said something about buyouts & that he didn’t think there would be any. I didn’t think Andlauer would step on or contradict what Staois said already. Of course, there will some thought to the idea that things will change or you can’t take everything at face value. But, that’s all we have for now with not a lot of support to think the opposite would be true.

He's getting paid more than some of the worst paid coaches in the league. Congrats, I guess? Wasn't DJ's $1.5M salary the highest ever for a Sens coach? It still doesn't change the fact that we're probably in the bottom third for coach salaries in the league.
