Like how Carolina would never trade Necas?... oh, wait.Okay dude even of he didnt. Dallas is a contender , legit each year. They aren't trading him

Necas and Jason aren't even close to similar. Get real dude. Also, Necas had been wanting out of Carolina since the summer and made it clear his intention to want to get paid and play the C position. Big Difference.Like how Carolina would never trade Necas?... oh, wait.
1. Byram
2. Ostlund + 9 for Andersson + 18
3. Kulich
Any of those I could see.
Flames need C and LD.
The Cinderella reference is pretty apt, since the Sabres are the ugly stepsisters of the NHLThose are full freight prices for a rental. Andersson is a on a nice cheap contract, but he turns into a pumpkin in 2026.
Yes and your reason was they already have 6 other players making 8M+. Maybe you didn't notice but 8M is the new 6M. The cap will be 104M when his next deal starts. Also you suggested they extend Andersson too, his contract ends the exact same year as Robertson's and he will get 8M+ tooI literally explained why in the post you quoted.
Every f***ing thread on here is "derailed" by fans of teams suggesting things for one of the pieces in the OP.... but continue to gatekeep L&D... maybe they'll give you a shiny blue name!Yes and your reason was they already have 6 other players making 8M+. Looking at Puckpedia they are projected to have ~36.2M cap space to work with. Let's say Robertson and Harley take up as high as 20M of that. That's still just over 16M to fill out the rest of their roster. Hell Seguin could even announce retirement a year early. The point is you sign him and figure it out later.
If you want to make a Robertson thread go do that. Stop derailing this one
Everyone just ignores this lolI don't see Andersson signing in Buffalo
Gate keeping? You're being ridiculous. Yes threads get detailed all the time here but they are usually more general threads that pull in lots of users. This is a very specific thread about a Calgary player going to Buffalo. How many Dallas fans do you think have seen this? Probably none, and how many do you think have clicked on one of the Marner threads? Probably quite a lot. You get my point? You are literally only debating with other Calgary fans and a random Habs fan.Every f***ing thread on here is "derailed" by fans of teams suggesting things for one of the pieces in the OP.... but continue to gatekeep L&D... maybe they'll give you a shiny blue name!
It's an opinion, Buffalo winters are the primary reason it's not a popular destination for free agents. Calgary winters are just as bad if not worse, yet he's been very adamant about wanting to stay. Why do people just put a hard stop on him being willing to sign in Buffalo? I'm not saying he will, but it's way to premature to say he absolutely won't.Everyone just ignores this lol
Seth Jones to Chicago. Who said anything about Buffalo or being able to negotiate with him? What is the best trade return ever for defenceman one year away from UFA without a pre-arranged contract?
What about one who is a big minus and hasn’t put up 40 points in 2 years?
I think some Flames fans might need to readjust their expectations with this one.
If I'm Conroy, I don't want either of those two. Peterka would be a requirement coming back.

Actually yes. If you watch Rasmus play, you'd see that he plays a more defensive game and is also a RHD. So he slots in nicely with dahlin.Actually no. His role in BUF is already filled by Dahlin. They need defensive D.
I mean I like the guy but he was the worst Dman for +- and overall on the flames. I know that's not a be all end all on evaluating a player but it's certainly a stat that can't be ignored, given anyone he played with was better away from him.To get Andersson? Not close.
Byram + Paterka. Getting a player like Andersson will be painful.

He hasn’t been adamant about staying in Calgary. He is giving the it’s a business song and dance which is usually a sign he is gone. He has been adamant about wanting to win and being on a contender though and hard to see that with Buffalo today. It's an opinion, Buffalo winters are the primary reason it's not a popular destination for free agents. Andersson would pair nicely with Dahlin on the top pairing for buffalo.
Nope...not for a rentalWould something around Samuelsson, Krebs and a pick be good starting ground?
To get Andersson? Not close.

I think the organization being a dumpster fire is the primary reason they can't draw free agents. The weather is imo a little overblown. Winning cures a lot and the Sabres haven't shown they know how to build a winning club. I'd be interested in Andersson if he'd consider re-signing here, but without that extension in place I think some of these offers are an extremely rich return for Calgary. It's an opinion, Buffalo winters are the primary reason it's not a popular destination for free agents. Top pair, right shot D.WTF....;facepalm:
Anderssen has nowhere near that value even with an extension
It has to do with how good the team is.It's an opinion, Buffalo winters are the primary reason it's not a popular destination for free agents. I mean, the Flames got Bahl + first for Markstrom. They got Brustewicz + first + for Lindholm. Nelson just got a first + Ritchie +One year of Andersson definitely does not return any of those packages.
Buffalo has no replacement for McLeod. Very doubtful he's moved.Ok. I'll play.
To Buffalo
Rasmus Andersson
To Calgary
Ryan McLeod
2025 2nd
Nikita Novikov
Seth Jones to Chicago. Who said anything about Buffalo or being able to negotiate with him?
Let's not act like his production is his fault. He tied his career high in goals this season. It's his assist that dried up completely, why should he be blamed for his teammates inability to put the puck in the net
At 5v5 among all defenseman with at least 500 minutes (211 defensemen) he was:
37th in CF/60
24th in SF/60
Tied for 87th in xGF/60
202nd in actual GF/60
Tell me which one looks like the outlier?
