Seravalli: Andersson and Flames “not on the same page” for contract extension

I think most STL fans would scoff at this. Kyrou has his hindrances but at the end of the day he’s a big time scorer and greatly improved defensively.

If Kyrou were involved, we’d need someone to bridge the way while the younger guys develop.

Maybe adding a guy like Coleman would help but I just don’t think it’d make sense in a Kyrou trade for the blues.

I was thinking something around
Pick #19
Faulk
Texier

for
Andersson
Coleman

Not sure if this is enough value for CGY or not. Rasmus had a tough year and seems to want out? 2 years ago I feel like I would not be offering enough value wise, but now, idk.

I think if the blues were to move Kyrou, it’d be in a deal for an upgrade or true Star Defenceman
Gross. You want us to take on Faulk and give you Coleman too? It will cost a lot more than 18 and a 26 year old depth player

Andersson was -38, which normally wouldn't be something worth mentioning if it wasn't for the fact that the next highest minus player on the team was -19.

That's 2x worse than the next worst player.

There's a reason for that. And that reason is Andersson sucks.

Or because he was tasked with shutdown minutes on a shit team, was always on the ice when we got scored on for an EN (which was a lot) and quite a few times 3 on 3 where as a Team we sucked royal ass.

Don't get me wrong, he had his warts this year, but this is a prime example of +/- not telling a full story.

This is the worst kind of statistical analysis. "Hey look at this one stat with barely any context, with this I can make a clear conclusion".

Yes it certainly wasn't Rasmus' best season, but there are a lot of compounding factors here.

Im sure the Swedish national team spent a lot of time talking a out Rasmus' +/- when they chose him for the Four nations and as captain for the World cup (despite playing on a literal broken leg).

You obviously don’t watch him play. Everyone that does watch Flames games know what a good player he is. You’re the only one here saying he sucks. So that’s pretty telling about your ability to evaluate him. It seems like the only knock you can bring up is his +/- and just this season because in past years it’s been much better. +/- is a stat that is an anomaly
