im confused here , is it him paying 5 games or the kings playing 5, cause if its him playing 5, whats stopping the kings from spreading those 5 over 30 of there games ?

Can't believe this guy keeps finding work....he sucks.

you are aware that in case Imoo Sr falls down with an injury, i'm literally the next guy replacing as a backup in the AHL?

but now that they've signed Lindback, i gotta go back to work, told my boss i had to take a few days off waiting for an important call, guess that call won't come for at least 5 more games! :(

Seriously, it's been a crazy year for goalies already.

To clarify, 5 game contracts are not a thing in NHL. This is a contract with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. Right now the Reign have a 46 year old goalie coach and his 21ish year old son coming off a 2 game season in the SPHL last year. They needed a goalie all kinds of desperately.

This can also be looked at as an insurance type of deal. Budaj, Zatkoff, and (unless I'm mistaken) Campbell can all be claimed off waivers on their way back down. But if Lindback is never brought up, he'll never face the waiver claim scenario.

I was under the impression Lindback hasn't played any games in Europe this season? Would need to clear waivers if signed to an NHL contract before being loaned to the AHL, but shouldn't have to clear waivers to sign an NHL deal if that's the case.

makes more sense, guess they'll test him out in the AHL before they do anything

and once Zatkoff is back, maybe by then Condon will be grabbed off waivers or something (If Lindback doesn't deliver)

Regardless, this should stop the goalie rumors for at least another week

So i take it the Kings don't an ECHL affiliate like some other teams where they store more minor prospects they could call up to the AHL ? Kind of wondered about that when a 46 old had to dress as a backup .

We have the Manchester Monarchs. I am assuming that this all went down on Saturday during the afternoon. Not enough time to get anyone out here. The flight across country is one of the big reasons we had a bunch of AHL teams move out west.

Man he fell off a cliff. He seemed pretty solid in Nashville, even when pressed into started duties while Rinne was out. Then he was traded to Tampa and went straight down the tubes.

The Mitch Korn special. Turn a terrible goalie into an All-Star.

The flight must be more expensive than his salary for 5 games. As if there are no goalies in NA.

Wasn't Campbell called up on emergency though? I thought that made him waiver exempt on the way back down as well.

It does, though CF is showing Campbell's status as being switched to regular recall as of yesterday. Even if it's regular recall, Campbell still has the 30 days/10 game limit before he would have to go through waivers again.
