Teenage years were in the 00s so that new jersey hardcore scene hit me at the right time. Punk runs the gamut of Nofx to Bad Religion to early AFI. Post Hardcore goes from Fugazi to Thursday, Circa Survive to SeeYouSpaceCowboy.

Whole lot more too but thats the general gist of it.
Yeah, punk/hardcore covers a lot of ground and that's why I asked to see if we were in the same ballpark. I'm into a lot of post hardcore and metalcore type stuff, so Thursday and Circa Survive are bands I'm very familiar with. Saw SeeYouSpaceCowboy a couple months ago with The Callous Daoboys and they were really good live, but didn't continue listening after that.

I would imagine we have a lot of similar music taste then. Enjoy a lot of metalcore as well.

Also just clicked that your avatar is circle takes the square EP. One of my wife’s most hated bands that I listen to haha. Love CTTS.

Ha. CTTS is my favorite band of all time and is my wife's go to example of "he likes really weird music that no one has ever heard of and no one likes"

Have you heard State Faults' new album? Easily my favorite album this year and kind of up the alley of CTTS/skramz

Blood Brothers would be that band for me. One of the few times I've regretted moving to the NL is missing out on their reunion tour they just did.

Haven't listed to State Fault before, between 2008-2012 theres a big gap in music and pop culture for me due to the amount of time I was gone in the navy. I'll check them out tonight!

I'm going to see Blood Brothers next week!

They're kind of a weird one for me. I somehow missed out on them when they were still making music. Got really into Burn, Piano Island, Burn a couple of years ago. Still feel like I don't know them super well but I know they're reputation so I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to go when a buddy asked

Booked tickets to see SOAD and Avenged Sevenfold at Soldier Field next summer. I've never been to Chicago, what are the must sees? Was thinking of seeing a game at Wrigley the next day. Will be driving from Sault Ste Marie and plan to camp along the way with my wife. Any great parks, hikes, stuff like that along the way would be appreciated!

You have to try a Chicago Handshake when you're there. When ever I go visit family, it's literally the first thing my brother offers me when I get there. You will be disappointed, but it's an experience everyone should at least once. Or just do a shot or two of Malort.

Chicago Handshake: A drink special in Chicago that's made with a shot of Malört and an Old Style beer

Naproxen (Aleve) works better than ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil) on tendinitis. I always thought Aleve was also ibuprofen. I learned something new this past week.

Heading back to MI next week. Organizing the house, so I can sell it in May. What a pain in the ass.

I am always going to hate my previous employer for blocking my transfer. They knew I'd quit if they blocked it, and now there's a hiring freeze so my dumbass Chief Engineer lost headcount. Probably would have been able to fill it before the freeze if he just let me move a year ago.

Buying/selling homes and moving, two of the most annoying things in life. I worked for two men and a truck when I was in college and 10+ years later my entire family still thinks I'm their personal moving professional.

That sucks.

My brother and dad died within the past decade, mom lived with me for 3 years, so I got a whole bunch of shit that's not even mine.

Anyways, I'm with 10 years of retirement so I'm looking for a house near Brighton, and then I'm just gonna buy a condo or rent an apt close to work. Then I won't have to move when I retire.

That sucks even more, unless it is valuable or sentimental I found renting a dumpster to be very helpful. I lived in Fenton for a while and would make my way to Brighton pretty often. I enjoy the area, I have been looking for a house west of Brighton for a while, somewhere in the corn. Houses out that way are super pricy right now though. If you are a golfer, Hunters Ridge is an awesome course. Hunters Ridge for fun, Coyote Preserve for a challenge. Every year the Coyote Preserve holds a massive golf outing for superintendents, professors from turf programs, golf course owners, and everyone in between in the golf industry. If you catch the course the week after that outing takes place its about as nice as you will ever see a public golf course in the state of Michigan.

I'm looking south of Brighton. My brother wants to move to Ann Arbor, but he's got way more dough than I do.

I lettered in golf, but I don't play anymore. Haven't played a round in a decade.
