The Aaron Rodgers drama is finally over and I can put all my sports attention into the upcoming NHL trade deadline. Thank goodness.

But how nuts is it Russell Wilson is headed to Denver? Big, big moves today.

Did you think Rogers would re-sign?

By the end of Year 2, Green Bay regrets the signing.

I think the Pack has a razor thin margin for error in fixing their warts enough to win one more before their cap completely implodes.

As we have more and more of these warmer spring feeling days, I itch to get my Corvette out of the garage and cruise with pops alongside his Cutlass. That is, until I see the gas prices rising daily. At least 93 hasn't gone up as much as 87. I took the Vette out the other day for a quick test drive after working on it this winter, and premium was less then 50c more then regular.

I honestly had no idea. Until...

Until they signed his old QB coach a few weeks back. This is a dude in his late 60s that was retired a few years. Basically it's the kind of hire that makes no sense unless the QB said, "This is the guy I want."

After they hired his old buddy, I figured they knew he'd be back but they just needed to hammer out all the details.

We don't know the details yet, unfortunately. So it's hard to comment how I feel this shakes out long-term. Rodgers stated via his Twitter that $200 million over 4 years report was completely fabricated. Technically, he hasn't signed a new deal yet, only agreed to return to the franchise.

Indications from his BFF Pat McAfee (who Rodgers uses as his primary press outlet) are that Rodgers is trying to work out a team friendly deal so the team can retain more talent.

We'll see. I'm holding out judgment until I see what happens to the contract and the Adams deal.

But I know NFC North rival fans are huffing serious copium saying it's a "good thing" Rodgers is getting paid to stay and that's the real downfall of the franchise.

How many people here have actually played hockey? And if you have, what kind of player are/were you? I have 4 immediate family members who played juniors/college, and one that made it pro. I gave up hockey in early high school and still regret that choice to this day as I wasn't a bad player, nothing special but I maybe could have gotten some free college out of it, who knows. The thing is, I'm just a grinder. I'm bigger, faster, and stronger then just about anyone but when it comes to raw skill there isn't much. I always had constant anxiety of the other team scoring when I was on the ice, which I believe lead me to unconsciously becoming an ultra-defensive forward. Shutting the other guys down always seemed so much easier then producing points. I didn't always know where my teammates were, but I always knew where the other team was and getting in passing lanes or catching an opposing forward/defenseman in an open scoring area came very naturally. During my last few years, there always seemed to be teammates that were pissed I got as much ice time as I did when I wasn't putting up the points, but not many kids that age appreciate defensive hockey and didn't care to understand it either.

I had a good 3 year run in a whaleshit beer league. Played center and put up a lot of goals by being faster that all the old guys. Ahh, my late 20’s. Good times.

This may shock people, but I played goalie.

Started skating at age 4, started goalie at age 10, and then played competitively until 18.
Most of those years were travel hockey in Michigan so there were a lot of weekends in Thunder Bay, Livonia, or Winnetka. Hell, back when we were kids our AA team was stacked and we trophied in virtually every tourney. I'd love to take credit but I was definitely the Chris Osgood of the group, if ya get my meaning.

I stopped growing in high school so suddenly I was undersized and that was basically it for any ambitions in hockey. I wasn't anywhere near good enough to make up for being Mike Vernon sized.

Although Jeff Lerg (you Michigan State fans will remember him) was about my age and holy hell was I pulling for him, haha.

I didn't start playing until I was 23. The closest rink to me was 30 miles away. I grew up playing baseball, football, and skateboarding.

I hit every open skate and pick up game I could until I could be competent against players with more experience. I think you and I have similar styles except I usually played on the backline. Cut off passing zones, turn your guy to the outside and take the puck from a fool was my M.O. I just loved playing defensive hockey.

I love all sports and played a good amount of traditional and X-games stuff, but hockey is one of my top passions even though I took it up later.

Funny, as soon as you mentioned being undersized as a goalie I immediately thought, "you could have had a Jeff Lerg type run!" Man was he fun to watch!

Was Arturs Irbe not inspiration enough?

I am also a goalie. I played all the damn time when I was young with street hockey. We didn't have a rink close enough to us that it made sense and we had six kids in my family. Had our school run a hockey program, like they do now, our neighborhood team would certainly have comprised most of the roster though. Routinely played with a bunch of guys on Little Caesar's teams. Got tossed in net because everyone else liked skating out and stickhandling.

Then, got back into beer league in 2011 and have definitely played at least 500 games in the 11 years since coming back to it. I am very well aware of just how bad I am and that like C league is probably gonna be my cap of actually surviving.

Never actually played competitive nor gotten any real training, everything I do is kinda on the fly.

Goalies are definitely a different breed:laugh: I dated a girl who played goalie for Elmira, and she was very unique. A great girl, but very unique lol

UPS delivered a parcel to my door. Driver did a quick knock and dash. Opened the door and found out why. Parcel looked as if it had been completely submerged in water. Box was destroyed. Thankfully only the packaging of my item was impacted but I nearly blew a gasket when I saw it.
