What a big heaping pile of dung that game was. Embarrassing, especially losing in such a fashion to a team like Florida.

Trouba had his first really bad game tonight, I think. Outside of the one rush he had in the second he didn't play very well.

Hopefully Kane is back on Saturday and Frolik has recovered from his flu, because the second and third line are absolutely useless with both these players out.

This team still hasn't learned. Rested, weak opponent. I have no evidence to support this but I bet the team did a little too much tourist stuff.

Pavs: bad
Enstrom: Bad
Buff: Bad
Tangradi: Bad
Wheeler: Bad

Just can't have that many important players playing like ass and have any chance to win.

Yeah, well...that was a thing.

That second period! Ho Lee Shiyat! Watching the Jets flip and flop and pirouette in the D zone while FLA did whatever they wanted was really great.

Whatever miniscule hope we had of somehow getting a playoff spot just evaporated.

Ladd a -4, on the ice for every single goal against. Ouch.

Trouba looked good even though he was responsible for 2 goals against. First game that he's looked comfortable going for a big hit.

A few others looked alright.

Everybody else looked terrible.

Especially when:

Frolik: out
Kane: out
Slater: out
Bogo: out

You'd think they'd realize that they have to turn the intensity up. Could not make a pass for the life of them for a good part of the game, and chasing the puck/game for a good chunk of it.

Some bad luck and a couple softies by Pavs - not sure it would have made a difference, but I wish that Noel's joke about Montoya being in was not a joke.

The only reason Trouba looked so good was because everyone else was so bad. He was solid. Nothing special, but tried to be a difference maker. Loved the physical game he had.

If Tangradi is considered an important player then the Jets have bigger problems.

Hard to be optimistic after that mess. Seems like the boys were enjoying their Florida roadtrip a little too much the last few days and forgot they were they to play hockey.

Feel like losing Frolik was the straw that broke the camel's back for us. All of those guys make a difference.

When you lose Frolik, Kane, and Bogo in the same game, you lose a very key player from almost half of your combined forward and defensive lines.

All three of those guys are pretty hard working, and the effort level Frolik always puts out, and that Kane has been known to reach pretty often, is the kind of play that lets you turn up the heat on (what should be...) a weaker team even when you aren't getting the bounces.

Just be all over their players and get pucks to the net, and when timmy coughs up the eventual rebound, be there to slam it home.

This game put me in an incredibly bad mood. ****.

On a side note, I'm convinced NHL players say 'Ya know', .7 times per sentence. Ya know.

Even if this team puts together a streak to make the playoffs in the 7th or 8th seed, they will likely be destroyed if this Jekyll and Hyde routine continues.

Pretty solid thread title, though, Sip. You had a solid effort.

Working harder than the Jets tonight.

Winter, had a bad session tonight, not even up to speed on my posts, should have netted the PGT, will try and have better posts in the Lightning game!;)
