Whom do you want to face in the first round?

Unless the Kings go on a real tear, it doesn't look like they are going to get higher than 2nd in the division, and that's a long shot. San José keeps winning and is only four points behind Anaheim now, who is treading water a bit.

I will go with Anaheim. I think we face up with them better, and play them better in their dump...er, arena. Plus we can fill it up with our fans and neutralize home ice, if need be.

Either way I guess but if I were to choose I would go with the Sharks. I like the way we play them. I think we match up better against ANA but I think we seem to find an extra gear against the fish.

I don't like picking any team to face cause I think any playoff team is tough, but judging by last year, we were completely dead as a team after facing SJ. So I'd maybe be more inclined to face Anaheim, especially if they continue in neutral. BUT, really either team is gonna be a battle with the division rivalry.

Very true.

Either team is a challenge but if we were able to I'd say I'd rather face the Ducks, but the only major reason why is because that means SJ finished on a tear while Anaheim faltered. I don't want to touch a healthy, hot Sharks team. I don't mind an Anaheim team that's slowing down if that's what it takes for us to meet them.

Either team has scoring punch though. No safe lead especially when Anaheim starts playing from behind with reckless abandon. All three of our Powerplays suck so special teams could be the difference :P california brownouts? I guess mayyyybe I'd rather face Niemi than Hiller, but it's really a coin toss all around. And I say that taking care not to disrespect either team because all three really have been something else this year. Nice to see all of CA succeed at the same time so we have a chance to continue building rivalries.

My best case scenario has us eliminating SJ in the first round, Ana in the second, though. I'd like Anaheim and LA to play this year finally.

That had more to do with the series against St. Louis than anybody else. St. Louis would've looked the same if they had come out on the winning end. That was just a brutal series both physically and mentally.

Kings match up better against San Jose, but it shouldn't matter. If you want to be the best, you need to be ready to beat anyone.

Yeah, honestly, I'd take any team in the east over a Cali team.

Playing the Sharks will make us injured for the following round. If we can play the Ducks and then avoid playing the Blues, we'll have a VERY good chance at the Cup.

True, but I thought San Jose was brutal too. Neither team had won an away game for a long time and they were a physical team which only added to what happened in St Louis. They had some energy left after the Blues but after the SJ series, the team was beaten down going into Chicago. I respect Chicago, but I think we might've beaten them if we faced them first round or even second round.

I'd rather face the Ducks, main because of Boudreau's playoff history.

Anaheim is no different than BB's high flying Washington teams that used exit the playoffs early every year.

Just look who Anaheim lost to in playoffs last year. Is this year Ducks team that much different?

Don't care who we face right now. Kings are really coming together at the right time. Really reminds me of a certain year the Kings did really well...

We will have to play both almost certainty, so its more a case of who to face first. Id rather play Sharks first when we are fully healthy because i think they are better than the Ducks, so playing them after a bruising Ducks series will be much tougher

I would prefer the sharks because I think Dallas will beat the ducks in a series.
