I actually think that's the only thing that will make this ownership pay attention is if they lose money and start losing season ticket holders. If they can't see that this management has no idea what they are doing then they never will.

Yep....right now they're focused on the new WNBA team and other business ventures. Once the Preds revenue gets hit, they'll pay attention.

After tonight, the only other team we face the rest of the season that isn't atleast sniffing around the wild card spots is Philly. Every other team still has a shot. Utah being the furthest shot (4 points out of wc2). They should all be playing with desperation while we continue to play with apathy.
Coaching meanwhile makes dumb choices.
Bottom 6 is obviously the problem. My complaint about leaving the kids to fend for themselves has been heard. The solution is to demote one, bring up 3rd line Smith, and continue down the path of 2C sissons
And annunen off the ice first so that might help
They lost this season ticket holder. And they never even reached out. After 12 years.

That lineup is the exact opposite of what came out of Barry Trot’s mouth as the plan for the remainder of the season. If Brunette was implementing what Trotz was saying, Svechkov would be centering two Vets (Marchessault and Stamkos), Evangelista would be playing alongside two Vets (O’Reilly and Forsberg) and L’Heureux would be playing with two vets (Sissons and Bunting). But here we are, a breakdown in the implementation of the plan by the coach or a breakdown in what the actual plan is by the GM.

We have the veteran talent to do it but have neglected to ever give it an honest shot all season. It's been Bruno's fallback ever since he started coaching here. It was last seasons complaint as well. All the good vets in the top 6. Some young players on the 3rd sometimes with an experience tweener babysitter. Then a 4th line either purely made of tweener grinders or sometimes with a young player thrown in there (tomasino/l'heureux).
Maybe the vets don't want to play with the young talent but if thats the case then trotz should chase the vets out of here.
2nd line Center Sissons is the perfect summary of what is wrong with this team

Well... our 1C is a 34 year old 2C and our 4C is a borderline NHL 4C.
Honestly, the whole C group is a good summary of why we are not good but not elevating a prospect into a more important role when this team is competing for the worst team in the league is pitiful. Zero reason to stack the most capable vets right now.
The team needs to shift from the idea of desperately trying to win games to desperately trying to figure out the future.

And the coaching staff. It tells you Brunette literally has no idea how to build a roster so he is going back to something he tried early in the season that didn't work then either. He's so bad he can't even stumble on putting a young guy with two Vets.
What's bad at this point is not only are they screwing up this season but they are screwing up the future to boot.
What blows my mind is if I'm a GM and I publicly say I want to see X, I'm going to make damn well sure my coaches are doing that. Not to Trotz though, just keep on letting Brunette do the same stupid crap he's done all season.

It's just not good that the GM and HC are not on the same page and probably not even the same books. And despite that big problem the HC has the GM's complete and total support. We might as well have a dancing tube man for a GM.
