I want to see Verbeek's face and hear his comments when one day in April I open up the Ducks Management thread after McTavish has had yet another middling season, Terry has been invisible for most of it, Leo has spent time injured, and Zegras has been traded away at the deadline.

Are we still going to be in the hunt for the playoffs the following year?
As (presumably) a Ducks fan, why would you want this?

Terry looks bigger again.

Terry and McTavish play well off each other, and Zegras and McTavish play well off each other, Zegras and Terry appear to still be a work in progress.

Zegras is in super skilled mode though, and Terry is possessing the puck very well and putting passes where they should be, and McTavish is sniping like crazy and being very effective as the defensive forward.

In a recent "Light the Lamp" episode on the official website, Terry said he was able to put more mass on this summer. He said that he and his wife were always on top of what their babies eat, but didn't make the connection that he should do the same. Now, he's eating better as well as taking proper supplements. Also, he put in work in the gym like Verbeeks wants.

Light the Lamp has three episodes posted on Sept 16th, 18th, and 19th.

Zegras McTavish Terry all bent over sucking wind on the dump and chase drill

I'm hoping these drills are just drills to test how in shape the players are after the summer. If this is how our offense is going to be again, then I'm frightened that Cronin will "dump and chase" the creativity out of our offensive players.

McTavish adding a defensive element to his game would go a long way, especially on that line.

They’re running a lot of cycling drills as well off controlled zone entries, and those three have been the most dangerous IMO. Carlsson was sorta lackluster today, didn’t much notice him.

I'm hoping so too.

Year 1 in the league, Mac went from LW2 to 4C, from 4C to 3C, and then settled in a top-6C role.
Summer = got bigger
Year 2 was with a new coach, Mac's offense popped off in ppg spurts of 20 games and 9 games sets.
Summer = got bigger
Year 3 with the same coach, Mac can focus on his defense... well, that's what we're crossing our fingers to happen. With his bigger body, hopefully he can absorb more punishment without getting too injured. Another thing I hope Mac can do is to play more physical. Maybe the new body might be the push for that type of physical play?

And to think that Mac is still 21 years old going into this season!

Thanks for all of the updates. Since the Ducks banned livestreams of the "open" practices, this place has been quiet due to no one reporting much. We're active again with your reporting. Big thanks!
