Does this mean RR is out for a while and the Voynov situation is not expected to be resolved in the near future?
Too bad for Schultz and Forbort as I am sure they would have loved the shot, but do to league BS of counting Voynov's contract against the cap they loose their chance. How are agents not enraged by this (not McBain's obviously)

That's ominous. Regehr to IR? Voynov out longer than expected? Don't even want to think about it anymore.

I think it has more to due with the uncertainty of the whole situation. Both those players make 300K more than league min. So it could take another month or two to get that much cap space avail. So even if RR is only out a few days that would mean playing with 5D that whole time.

I'd say we should all just forget Voynov exists until something, anything, happens with the situation. Nothing has happened so far, so why expect anything to happen by Wednesday?

If Regehr can't go, you can't make going with 5 defensemen an every game thing. The Kings have to do something, so, add a free agent now that the cap space is available.

What will be another interesting twist is that if this Voynov thing continues to go on and on, and Regehr is put on IR to make room on the active roster for McBain, at what point could the Kings have 7 healthy defensemen? Other than trading or trying to send down a forward. I'm guessing it would be Nolan or Andreoff, but of course no team is going to help the Kings out of kindness. So the Kings would have to add something to a potential deal, or risk losing an asset for nothing, but still have Voynov's cap hit.

I was just wondering when the Kings will have 7 available defensemen again. It'll be either when Voynov exists again, or a forward goes, and nobody is helping the Kings in either situation. Just commenting on the seemingly never ending road blocks.

Regehr, who didn’t practice today, is out with an undisclosed injury that will sideline him for a ballpark of roughly seven-to-10 days, Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi told LA Kings Insider earlier today.

Well, we need a right-handed defenseman with a 550K contract for a week, week-and-a-half. According to capgeek, the 2 defensemen in Manchester with 550K are LoVerde and the still-injured Bodnarchuk.
