I just can’t see us moving him to a team that can’t extend him…. Extension should = a lil more value for us.

As a rental tho if no extension deals work out that is decent offer

Not really a needed trade, and Calgary has made two trades that have mortgaged the future a bit. I doubt we can sign Lindholm, so this would be a bad beat for Calgary.

Calgary is likely done, they've given up enough for awhile. I still have faith in Valimaki, I think it would be a major mistake giving up on him.

This is coming from someone who respects the shit out of Hampus Lindholm, Calgary politely declines.
We have too much uncertainty for 2023; with 4 major pieces needing new contracts (including a very important UFA).

We've mortgaged quite a bit for the two moves we've made already.

If we do anything else it'll be for some deep depth type moves; a #8 defender, a #3/4 goalie.

Not sure why the Flames keep getting linked to bigger name LHD. Giordano, Chiarot, and now Lindholm. Our D has been performing great this year. We don't need an upgrade and we don't need more depth. A few insiders are saying they are the dark horse in all this. I agree with you though. Calgary wouldn’t be the suitor in my opinion. The pressure is on Toronto and Boston right now. Literally a legitimate squeeze of the throat. Florida and now Tampa are all in! And getting better. That Atlantic division is going to be very difficult from now on from all the clubs outside of Detroit

Other duck fans might, but Monahan doesn’t move the needle for me. And you are 100% right they are trying to drive the price up. But look what Hagel got? Dude was a fricken free agent denied by Buffalo. And he gets 2 firsts ++. It’s unbelievable how much players are going for right now

Lindholm has a history of agitating the Oilers especially McDavid lol, that is a big plus for the Flames.
Problem would be that Lindholm hates Lucic and he bullied Lucic in the 2017 playoffs against the Oilers.
