Fowler rejuvenated is just one check mark on the “Cronin needs to go” list , the bigger issue are the kids regressing or not progressing much.
Ya the highlight of the young players is zegras is competes in all 3 zones now at the expense of like 40 points.

The biggest issue with fowler is that maybe if we had a capable coach we coulda got more trade value on fowler.

fowler was probably also mailing it in at the end too knowing his days with the ducks were limited

glad he's doing well with the blues, but there was no reason to keep him when he was going to be blocking the young d-men

It sure seemed he was mailing it in. I think he was also upset about not being named captain.

I don't think anyone - even Fowler's biggest critics - are surprised to see him thriving on a better team where he plays with another top d-man with a profile that perfectly covers Fowler's flaws. It wasn't going to happen with the ducks and personally I'd rather see Minty/Helleson play for the ducks than Fowler (the version we had in Anaheim) at this point.

I mean he sucked when he was here and that wasn’t going to change.

He was also blocking the young guys that are the future of the team, it was time.

He’s not our problem anymore, so ya no one is really going to bring him up much anymore, other than the team has looked fine without him.

Maybe we won’t hear the “you don’t want to see the team without Fowler crowd”

I think everyone agrees here…. Idk what pv is waiting for.
You and others were making the obligatory “I was right about Fowler” “record without Fowler posts”.

It’s bait, you’re the prime offender, and stop playing the innocent card.

Counterpoint - he was mailing it in because he had a GM who didn’t want him, a coach that misused him, and the young players have been a mixed bag since. Every single one of them would likely have benefitted from a change in coaching.

Need to change the scenery around our players without having to trade them. Starts with new coach , system, and just a better culture.

Can see the looks on their faces, Terry ties game looks like someone stole his Teddy Bear, and I know Cronin stole Leo’s. lol

I think it’s fair to think Cam was still a good player, but also to think the team is better off without him. Whether it was coaching, or him mailing it in, or both, he just wasn’t working here anymore. Still doesn’t change the way I feel about him, loved his tenure here.
It does beg the question though, how do we get to the point where a good top 4 d man returns a 2nd 2 years into the future with 2.5 mill retained? I think it likely frustrated everyone involved. Screems poor management IMO. Then again, I haven't really been a PV fan since his first TDL.

Oh trust me I have had plenty concerns over returns for these trades but I was told that taking on Trouba at full contract and paying to do so, while using unused cap space from the summer was actually weaponizing cap space.

Simple. You have a coaching staff so bad that they make all their players look worse than they are. Then you trade them cheap and blame all poor performance on the players.

If this team trades a Z or Mac before firing Cronin they will hasten their own demise.

Fowler playing well is the least surprising thing ever, and makes me very happy to see. Must be a relief playing in a proper NHL level system which he hasn't experienced since RC was here (who could have known RC would be a better coach then Eakins and Cronin put together ).
