Not trolling, where was he open about wanting a trade? All I’ve seen is him being open to one, after Verbeek brought it up, and it seems like it was made clear he wasn’t wanted.

All I’ve seen were insiders saying they’d heard he wanted to play for a contender, I never heard a word about him wanting out from anyone Ducks or Ducks adjacent.

I think the issue with Verbeek is that he is always the one throwing in the sweetener, whilst never receiving one.
He got the sweetener when he tried for Dadanov ……. 🥺

Fowler isn't a victim here. His play was uninspired, he was open about wanting a trade. Verbeek has made moves that are open to criticism, but this isn't one of them.
I don’t think it was a bad move at all and agree Fowler isn’t a victim. I just can understand everything surrounding what was happening impacting his play negatively. He’s been here his entire career, knew he was on his way out and there is a lot of hockey stress and real life stress that comes along with that.

Verbeek is busy right now. Dealing with these outright lies from keith handle. Poor guy, can’t catch a break

Wanting to play for a contender equals open to a trade for me. Ducks aren't contending anytime soon. I agree with your last paragraph, but sometimes you just have to take your medicine to do what needs to be done.

Trouba is a few years younger than cam, a former captain, Big and right handed. All of that said… Trouba >>> Fowler moving forward
Let's not pretend like Trouba is some huge upgrade. He's already made quite a few mistakes, he's frequently behind the play, and his mobility is not good, all of these are bound to get even more exaggarated as he gets older. On the other hand he does bring some physicality and muscles in the crease. Interestingly enough, "everyones" new favorite descriptor of hockey games, Stat cards, had him, from memory, mostly in the negative in the games he played ao far.

As Verbeek said in the intermission of last game, trading Fowler will give younger guys opportunity to grow, meaning that, among other things, it will force the coach to play younger guys more.

Fowler, as an offensively focused LHD, was redundant with our young LHD. Trouba is a better fit with those guys and balances out the pairings. If he was good, Rangers wouldn't have be desperate to dump him. Hopefully, he's a short term fix until Luneau is ready and Moore (fingers crossed) gets signed.
