It's not a news article, Zegras missed the beginning of training camp last season.

That's really not that big of a deal. Rakell and Lindholm missed parts of camps before their first RFA deals after ELC. Nylander missed half the NHL season, not just camp. Sometimes that's just how negotiations go. It's not always the red flag you're suggesting it is.

I'm saying there's more chance it's a red flag (we don't know) than if he didn't miss part of the camp.

Nylander did too and for longer. It’s not a huge deal.

In Nylander's case, he also got paid. But in some other cases , the player than ask for a trade as a step 2.

The same Newhook who's two highest scoring seasons at the time of the trade combined was less than Zegras's highest? Even with just having his worst season, he has 1.5x the career points Newhook has at the same age. If he has another sub 20 point season, then his value will be closer to what Newhook got. Newhook hasn't hit 35 points in a season, Zegras broke 60 twice.
