It would have to involve ANA 1st and it would be at the draft. We’re not trading him in season.
Agreed about at the draft, doesn’t make sense for minnasota to do it before then based on where they are in playoff run… unless something drastically changes

What would Minnesota want for Kevin Fiala?

Ana
K. Fiala

Min
R. Rakell
S. Steel

maybe or something like?
I get the idea but fiala is RFA, Rakell is UFA… if/when wild trade fiala they will likely want cost controlled assets that should be able to jump into roster within the next year. Would be significant amount more from Anaheim and likely wouldn’t happen until draft which makes Rakell not fit the deal without an extension

I feel like if we went 1st it would look more like

1St(w/protection) or at draft and depends where 1st is
Colangelo/lacombe
Minnesota is stacked @ Wingers and D for the foreseeable future! It would be a 1st and C prospect. Not Wingers

Those guys are probably pretty nice prospects, but I think I'd rather just have the pick.

And I've seen more than enough of Lacombe to not want anything to do with him.

I imagine not many people are offering the type of center prospects you need for fiala, and def not doing those centers + 1st.

I agree , middle 1st likely allows you to aim at a center with some upside or a potential falling center. Maybe even package the 2 1sts and try to move up on draft day to find those needed centers. Which is likely best chance at getting a center, unless the kings jumped in and wanted to throw vilardi / turcotte your way for fiala

The chance to get value on Steel and Rackell is gone. In the rearview mirror. Neither carry much value anymore. Rackell would have netted a 1st plus a year ago. Now? Very doubtful he even returns a first. Unless Ducks attach something.

I mean Minnesota has no room for the foreseeable future with Wingers and d.

Kaprizov, Zuccarello
Kevin fiala (Adam Beckman) , Matt boldy
Marcus foligno, Brandon duhaime
Connor dewar, frederick gaudreau

Nick swaney
Pavel novak

Actually writing this, I guess Minnesota can use 1 or two Winger prospect , but the fear would be they would just play on Bottom line unless Zuccarello is gone , and I don't see that happening as kaprizov loves him

Depends how the market looks at deadline

Rakell at 50% still pretty valuable to a team in a playoff spot looking for depth.
1st could maybe work
2nd + 3rd/ prospect prob more likely

Steel were better off holding on to and hoping he continues to adapt his game... He is a NHL player.... maybe not a top 6 like we hoped. If we did move him it would have to be flipping him for another struggling prospect.

This gets more fascinating the more I look at it. Does your shift key just work randomly?
