Exactly....This is a bad comparison. Bucek is not a national team player, where's Regenda has been successful at both the Olympics and World Championships. Not to mention he's much more of a grinder type, so it's gonna be easier for him to take his game to the next level than someone like Bucek, who is expected to score goals.
Not saying Regenda will be an NHL'er, but it doesn't matter since the Ducks aren't paying him to be one. Best case scenario, he surprises in camp and he'll see some action on the 4th line with the big club. Worst case scenario he will be playing a bottom six/energy role in the minors. Seriously, who cares.
Well if Bucek's yo-yo-ing between 10 minutes per game and being a healthy scratch in the KHL is any indication, Regenda is surely going to set the NHL on fire. Surely. Not like we have yet another proof of a lightyear-wide gap between the Slovak league and actually competitive ones. Can't wait to see that NHL-level speed.
Regenda is signed to an ELC contract. We'll see what he has. If he sucks, then he doesn't get anything else. This wasn't a comparison. I asked to list players who made the jump from the Slovak league to the NHL and Bucek was given as one of the examples. When indeed, he can't even make a successful jump to the KHL. It's unrealistic to expect "NHL-level pace" from the player making the jump from the Slovak league, no matter how successful you have seen him be there "on weekly basis". Which is the same thing you are saying in your "best-case scenario".This is a bad comparison. Yes, nobody in this thread is discussing the signing itself past the first few posts. And nobody at all told that he sucks. If you aren't interested in the current direction of the discussion no need to invest yourself.Regenda is signed to an ELC contract. We'll see what he has. Made the Ducks opening night roster

I don't think he comes near the Calder race. He's a nice surprise, but he will start on the 4th line and I wouldn't expect much if at all top6 time. But that 4th line was arguably our best in the preseason thoNot surprised at all.
I still think he is a dark horse for the Calder race
he is that good.
Let's take it one step at a time and see if he dresses first. Not surprised at all.

Yet another brilliant insight. Was tried on Zegras' wing, -2 in 11 minutes on ice. It's good nobody is going to point any fingers after the game like tonight but if you look at that 2nd Islanders goal.. Not great. Not surprised at all.

Regenda was credited with two assists against the Rangers tonight his 1st points as an NHL player.
I check people for fung (Fun)Regenda’s name reminds me of Rebenga from scarface.

Yikes, @SoundAndFury is probably not too pleasedRegenda’s name reminds me of Rebenga from scarface.

ClownI had trouble sleeping tonight, a sense of anxiety, like I knew something terrible is happening. I woke up in cold sweat, checked twitter, maybe Putler has reached a new level of insanity. But no, everything is as usual there: some Su-34 crashed into a residential building, a pensioner trying to shoot down drones with his air gun. So then I went to check the NHL scores because might as well and then it struck me: IT'S PAVEL FREAKING REGENDA WITH MULTI-POINT GAME IN THE NHL
Is this really the world we want to leave to our children? Good thing I don't have children, after tonight I probably never will.
I'd say clowns are the people who think it's a sign of "envy" to judge prospects objectively and demand some kind of unconditional love just because they are of a certain nation. But that's just me.Clown
By the way, at the risk of going off-topic, weren't you a big fan of Slovan playing in the Mordor league? Way after the 2014 events and such, ones that touched the league in a very direct way (remember Donbass?). You really turned that wokeness from 0 to 100 pretty fast. It's the Mordor league where all good players can be found.
Regenda made Anaheim becuse he is legit good, not just because its Anaheim. Regenda would take a regular spot in all 32 NHL teams.I'd say clowns are the people who think it's a sign of "envy" to judge prospects objectively and demand some kind of unconditional love just because they are of a certain nation. Case in point: I believed Regenda will need time in the AHL but as Kalv pointed out, the Ducks are a perfect fit for him and he fills the need, therefore, he made the NHL roster. Good for him. We could have left it at that but the moment it happened he went from NHL-hopeful to "dark horse for the Calder race" despite playing 11 minutes per night.
So at this point, it's just sadly hilarious that me saying he is going to have issues with mobility/pace in the NHL gets turned into something I have never said or implied before and his modest success of playing 4th line in the NHL is evidently the ultimate proof Slovakia is the greatest and most underrated hockey power ever.
All the other "arguments" that were given in the summer blowing up in your face, like Bucek being signed by Seattle when in reality he fizzled out into having to sign in the Czech league via the KHL or Nemec being drafted 2nd overall (post #24 implied that somehow proves Slovak league is not that far from the NHL because logic) just to be sent down to the AHL evidently don't matter at this point because Regenda is indeed playing his 11 minutes per night in the NHL.

He has the lowest TOI on the Ducks meaning he is nominally their 12th forward. So Anaheim has the best forward group in the league since their 12th would make ANY team?Regenda made Anaheim becuse he is legit good, not just because its Anaheim. Regenda would take a regular spot in all 32 NHL teams.
Im sure he is feeling ill or injured.Scratched tonight by the way.

Weird, because he doesn't have a regular spot even in Anaheim. As another famous legend of these boards said, "he is that good".Regenda made Anaheim becuse he is legit good, not just because its Anaheim. Regenda would take a regular spot in all 32 NHL teams.
