Cheap signing....weren't there cap issues there? Or was that just the internal thing?

Didn't expect him to get 2 years. Maybe that's why he picked the Ducks? Seems like a good deal for both. He can contribute to a winner. Plus the cap hit is peanuts if he can produce over 30 points. Worth the risk to see if he can.

2 years is a surprise. I guess he doesn't mind going to Vegas in year two. Closer to Ariz, which he apparently loved.

Looks like a straight up replacement for Nate Thompson

Kind of a "meh" signing, not sure it makes them any better because they are pretty comparable in what they bring to the table.

Great signing for the Ducks. Pretty much gets Getzlaf off the PK entirely now unless Kesler or Vermette is in the box. Top 3 for sure in center depth now.

Worth it just for faceoffs and leadership alone. GL to Vermy.

A defensively responsible center that's 55.8% on the dot is just what Rakell needed in the center of the ice. Happy with this signing.

Looks solid, but I wonder if this one forces them to bridge Lindholm and Rakell.

Solid value at that price point. Surprised a bit by the two years... wondering if there are any NMC/NTC included therein, otherwise he's expansion draft/deadline fodder.

dang, I was hoping the Oil would get him. I don't blame him for wanting to play with a great team again though.

LOL Why would anyone pick Vermette on the draft when you can select a guy like Rakell/Silver/Manson/Fowler/etc.....

Good signing, not only is Vermette a solid center but moving Rakell to the wing full time will see the best out of Rakell too.

**** this is a great deal for the Ducks.

They have Getz, Kessler, Cogliano and now Vermette down the middle. Solid D, and Solid Goaltending. Those are three areas of need for cup caliber teams and areas the ducks are looking very deep in.

I am a duck hater...but Christ they are looking good.

Cogs hasn't played center since 11/12. It's Getz/Kesler/Vermette/Wagner (Thompson when healthy).

Because hopefully all those players will be protected. Well, a deal may have to be made so they don't take Manson, but they can have Despres though.

Good signing. He's fine as long as he isn't playing in the top-six, which he won't in Anaheim.
