Every year Drury has to spend all of his time and current roster players and future picks to get rid of the players past Drury acquired in the last 2 years. It’s just not fair for a GM to have to be constantly salvaging a terrible roster he inherits from the year before, no wonder why he hasn’t made any progress on improving the team.

Way to make me feel ancient, kid!!!! I only caught the end of his career. He was a little guy with a lot of heart. He was part of that St. Louis expansion team that nearly pulled off the ultimate Stanley Cup upset against the Canadians....although they were swept, all the goals were decided by 1 goal and they were led by two goalies close to 40 years old: Glenn Hall and Jacques Plante.

The entire team is a train wreck defensively. Defense takes effort. Defense isn’t fun. Defense isn’t glamorous. Offense is fun. Tick tack toe fancy pants plays where they point at each other like blushing 15 year olds in the hall way between math and science afterward are fun.

This team is all about fun, not work. They love those cheeky highlight reel goals. They live for that shit. When it’s a rebound or a grind it out goal the celebration is nothing like when they play patty cake and it works. Game tying goal on a greasy rebound? Couple of fist bumps and helmet taps. 5 tick tack toe passes and a back door tap in that cuts the opponent’s lead from 3 to 2? Ear to ear grins like their crush just passed them a note with “go out with me? yes no”. Nobody appreciates the smell of their own farts more than the players on the New York Rangers.
