Kings celebrated that one like they just won game 7

Knob needs to stop putting RNH out in overtime, he looks like a senior citizen that needs a walker when he's skating with the puck in open ice.
The same RNH that recently scored an OT winner and primary assisted on another? I get people complaining about Nuge 5 on 5 but otherwise he's been pretty good.

RNH (with Hyman and Ekholm) has generally been good in OT. The issue in OT tonight for that trio was Hyman managing the puck poorly, imo.

We went backwards this offseason
Big time. We are older, slower and softer. Jackson blew it up this offseason, and it's a disaster. McDrai has been supporting the D at a level we have never seen before, which is obscuring how big of step backwards we took imo.

How good would a fast defensively responsible 25 yr old on a 2 million contract look right now? How about a fast, gritty, goalscorer for Leon at 2.3 million?

JSkinner costs 3 million to tank the third line so someone might trade for him. I like Arvy, but not at the cost of Holloway, and we are in win-now mode but traded Mcleod for 5'10 magic beans that is looking a hell of a lot like XB right now.

I thought we played well. OT is just a coin flip. It got to OT because their goalie was better
We're playing the Kings without Doughty and a couple other players. How good would we look without Ekholm. Its a big hit to the Kings to have not had Drew all season. I thought the Oilers played to the level of the Kings and nothng better.

But at the end of the day, this Oilers team's best blows the doors off that Kings team's best, even with Doughty.

Doughty ain't Ekholm at this stage. We all watched him and Anderson picking the puck out of their net for like 60% of the Oilers goals last spring.

Hyman trying to skate through two players in ot losing the puck instantly was the highlight of ot. The guy can be the dumbest guy on the ice sometimes.
Looks like a genius compared to Bouchard and Nurse. Same old shit, and this was the game they needed Skinner to play solid. He did, a solid turd.

Don't disagree entirely with this. Theres good doughty and bad doughty at this age. That said Drew has to face the most explosive topsix and PP in hockey. Sure he'd look better playing for us.

Byfield looks generational vs the Oilers and dogshit against everyone else

tough loss but got a point....onto Anaheim

We also helped Jeannot look like he was worth a year or two worth of Tampa draft picks.

Ah well. And skinner. Dude. One thing you should have learned from Smith was to send that helmet flying the second it is loose. No ref is gonna do you any favours.

Yea I mean I'd love him on the 2nd pairing at half the price. Assuming this latest ankle injury doesn't prove to be the final nail in the coffin.

Just rewatched game & goals.
Skinner is an awful goalie.
Not for the first time opponent broadcast having a laugh at our *#1* goalie Stewed Skinner. They're also saying he lost the net on the winner, he was half out of the cage and from that angle if Skin was anywhere square theres not much to shoot at.

2nd Kings goal is terrible butterfly. Skinner is just unable to stretch post to post like quality goalies do. 3 rd goal the "no chance" play is a pass across with Skinner deep in crease not reading a f***ing thing, not even knowing Jeannot is back door for the tap in. Opponent goalies make that stop against us almost every game, and sometimes multiple times. With Skinner and this broadcast its always "he had no chance" "can't blame Skinner on that one" and people eat it up Kings had about 5 scoring chances where they actually hit net, requiring a save, and 4 goals allowed.

Can't count any of the mental midget stuff Fiala was doing as scoring chances where he overplayed and didn't even get a SOG. This is the thing with Fiala. Tons of dimestore moves, ragging puck around meaninglessly and had one SOG all game. This player would drive me nuts if he was an Oiler. He's -9 on a club with pretty good goal differential. Of course he's worst on the team in plus minus and GA/60mins but the fans love the fancy moves. Doesn't matter how much he turns the puck over

He’s back in that shaky confidence mode where it seems like he is always moving the wrong way for every shot coming his way.

Still stunned he was crying to the refs for a whole shift change instead of just doing what he saw Mike Smith do a million times before.
Skinner so easily loses concentration. he's trying to communicate with an offical in 3 on 3 OT to get a stoppage. Officials often don't allow such stoppage in 3 on 3 as possession is such a bomb in this format. Its not as easy as milking a mask loose stoppage in regulation time. So instead of tracking the play properly Skinner just distracted, gets scored on seconds later losing his net. In OT.

Oilers are almost a cheat code in OT except they have Skinner in net.

Now I'm watching Askarov looking like a legend again compared to Fred Skinner.
