OT: Amusement Park Discussion

I kind of figured that might be the case regarding the accommodations, especially when going alone. The few trips that we've taken down there, I've gone on Air BnB and gotten a place that was someones timeshare that they put up there. We've stayed at Club Wyndham Kingsgate and Club Wyndham Governor's Green, the second being nicer than the first.

Precarious is our go to spot. The beers are good and they have a couple different food options inside the brewery that are good, a taco place and a burger spot. Last time down we did try Strangeways, but I think it had just opened, and was just ok.

I was just looking and I see that it looks like there is a new brewery opening call Voodoo. We're heading down there for another golf trip in September, so might have to make a stop there.
Yeah if I was ranking the breweries I did it would be Aleworks, Virginia, Billsburg, Strangeways. Strangeways wasn't horrible but it was definitely the least liked. Billsburg is good beer and an amazing room at a marina on the James River. It did have a lot of kids running around the time I was there though.

So I returned to work to find this on my cube wall

I've done golf trips to Williamsburg, but have never visited Busch Gardens. Downtown Colonial WB is such a cool little spot. Love going to Precarious Brewery when we're there. Just curious, where do you typically stay when you go down there? It's certainly an older town, so some of the lodging isn't the best.

Busch Gardens is elite, just for how much shade and cooling there's always been. Compared to Kings Dominion which is like visiting an oven. Spending a cumulative 5-10 minutes actively riding rollercoasters has never been worth the terrible agony of KD for me.

There is a reason BG gets awards for it's landscaping.

Whereas the Six Flags parks, wow that makes things so much easier than having to use the two chains, are more of a just drop rides in and forget the idea of shade in most of their parks. I actually find KD as one of their better shaded parks LOL. The Old Dominion and Candy Apple Grove areas aren't bad. Jungle X needs some trees but it's been a huge construction area for the last couple years so I hope they add trees once everything is complete construction wise.

So not a good few weeks for Amusement parks.

Kings Island in Cincinnati invaded with the brood of 17 year cicada.

Cedar Point having serious issues with rides being open (lots of downtime due to winds) and also the mayflies.

Kings Dominion was closed this past weekend due to a water main break outside the park that supplies the park.

Most of these causing people to think they deserve a refund on season passes/fast passes and also just being Karen's about the state of the parks blaming Six Flags for these issues.
