Not on an NHL level, but individual teams have done this before. It's always well received but eventually gets shut down because the teams don't like giving that much "behind the scenes" access.

So it's up to the NHL. This could be great - *IF* they maintain a commitment to quality "behind the scenes" access to the film-makers. Otherwise it's just glossy league marketing material.

So come on - take us inside the locker room immediately after a tough loss. Show us a coach's speech before a game. Show us what the players really think of each other.

I know the NHL won't give 100% unfiltered access - but give us more than we already get.

Between the Pipes
Prime Video and the National Hockey League have unveiled “NHL Coast To Coast,” a new weekly studio show that will air live on Thursday nights in Canada.

The program will offer live look-ins, highlights, and expert analysis of NHL games. This series joins the previously announced “Prime Monday Night Hockey,” which streams national regular season NHL games on Monday nights exclusively on Prime Video in Canada.

Season 1 will be six episodes long and will feature Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, William Nylander, Quinn Hughes, Matthew Tkachuk, Filip Forsberg, David Pastrnak & Jeremy Swayman (among others) alongside Eichel.
