Alvin on Pettersson: He needs to mature and understand that there are certain expectations.. need to face the music when things don't go well

I have zero issues with this.. and as a life long Canucks fan I'm willing to trade Pettersson.

Feels like the majority of the time he's the most inconsistent star in the league. Soft, always pouting and lacks a motor. Feels like he's always racking up points under the radar and never like some dominant force.

Trade him before others catch on.

In retrospect it should have raised some alarms when Pettersson threatened to not sign unless the team did well. Not a guy you can trust when things get tough.
Add to this that he still was hesitant to sign when the team was absolutely rolling last year.

Well ya Miller is an AHole that makes going to work suck, this is the problem when people try to glorify Mackinnon being a dick or MJ being some hero for being a prick to people. It's not ok for Babcock to do it and it isnt ok to pass the buck and get players to do it instead of the coach.
They sent Miller home for it so now they are trying to hide how big of a meatball he is and rebuild some sort of trade value.

Canucks could have waited until off season to sign the contract. Since the contract signing, he fell a cliff. Could have signed him for 8-9 mil max now. With all these injuries now, canucks need to tank

Once again a really stupid question asked a player.

Do you like it here? What an idiot question, why not just ask "do you want to be traded?"

IMac;
Does he want to remain with the Canucks?
“Yeah, of course,” he said. “That's why I signed here. Of course.”

To say anything else could, COULD hurt his trade value or the team's work to get a trade done.
And then how would he be accepted in Vancouver? Shoot himself in the head?
Such a bad question.

A better question might have been, Is the team going in the direction you expected? Again a straight answer shouldn't be expected.

Every player can honestly state he hasn't asked the team for a trade but that is what agents are for, they can quietly "chat" with the team and skirt around an outright trade demand.
For Miller the agent might talk about other teams that are acceptable to Miller without saying that at all but the message is sent without the demand.
For EP, his agent just keeps making calls to talk about his player's welfare.
"he really wants to get over 100 points, he really likes the idea of winning a cup, he is concerned about his age"
Neither of those might not be necessary, they might just say the player is unhappy here, now. It would be in the best interest for the agent to stay quiet.

EP has always stated clearly what his career wants and desires are, no decoding needed. Every contract has had the same comments prior to signing. Playoff, playoffs, playoffs and play for the Cup.

If they waited he could take the 1 year arbitration rate and walk to UFA.
