Two things:

1) The kid already comes from a wealthy family so financial security may not be as paramount for him as other prospects.

2) He's extremely confident in his own ability, so he may just want to bet on himself for a big payday.

Usually when prospects sign these deals they trade potential future earnings for security up front, knowing that anything could happen (injury, under performance, etc). Not sure Bo or Vlad fall into either camp but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.
