He did. But Look to Lasak in 2002, 2003, 2004. He was a beast in the net. Budaj never played such games in national team.
That is possible and I never watched them that closely. But Budaj must be seen as the greater player and Lasak could also be seen as inferior to Jaroslav Halak now.

Who would you pick instead of Milan Jurcina and Radoslav Suchy? I had players like Lubomir Sekeras, Ivan Majesky and Branislav Mezei on my shortlist.

Hard to say. Maybe Dominik Granak and Ivan Droppa. Maybe if we dig into the 80s, 70s, there could be some. But cant remember now.

I much prefer this Canadian team:

Lemieux Gretzky Yzerman
Hull Beliveau Howe
Messier Clarke Lindros
Sakic Crosby Richard
Mikita

Pronger Orr
Robinson Bourque
Potvin Harvey
Kelly

Roy
Plante
Brodeur

I excluded anyone from the pre-WW2 era, as most of that generation was clearly surpassed by the group that followed them. In some cases a lesser player was selected or put higher in the lineup for cohesion reasons. Tons of great players excluded.

This would beat an all-time team from the rest of the world.

I made a all-time Team Europe too. How would they stand? Of course they would be better with some American players.

3. Jari Kurri – Peter Stastny – Teemu Selänne
4. Valeri Kharlamov – Yevgeni Malkin – Boris Mikhailov
5. Mats Sundin/Vaclav Nedomansky

Defensemen
1. Nicklas Lidström – Zdeno Chara
2. Viacheslav Fetisov – Alexei Kasatonov
3. Erik Karlsson – Börje Salming
4. Frantisek Pospisil – Sergei Zubov

Probably, Canada has a huge head start. The edge on defence is probably the biggest factor. I maybe should have found room for Lafleur but I don't know which centre he would be a good fit with.

I'd love to see Lafleur flying around with Gretzky and Lemieux, instead of Yzerman, but that's really more of a preference thing.

Yes, Canada's defense corps is harsh. For my own taste, I even like your third pairing more than your second. I can see that you're making an effort to balance your pairings; putting a sledgehammer with more of a transition guy. And then your extra, Kelly, is extremely versatile. Well done.
