...a nice center capable of playing both ways in C Bobby Carpenter.
As a longtime Capitals I liked Bobby very much. But he's not at all two-way in an all-time context.

He had juts two half-decent seasons followed by just one great year, scoring 50+ goals and making his only all-star game appearance.

...never scoring more than 25 goals in any one year after his big season. A superb career fizzled quickly,...
http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/LegendsOfHockey/jsp/SearchPlayer.jsp?player=10225

He went on to being not much of a scorer for the next 14 seasons.

I imagine him best used on an ATD team as a fourth line defensive presence who might make a good pass or shot on net once every few games, more in the mold of the veteran Carpenter who won a cup in Jersey.

I know, but he's certainly not a guy you can write off as having no offensive talent at all. I obviously see him as more of a defensive guy, but he can't be ignored as a potential threat to score from time to time. Sort of like a certain active defensive line forward from my favorite squad(who I actually don't think would be a bad pick in this context).

Did you miss my trade offer? Much better option than this guy.

i do have a list for kruezer from 2 days ago and the player hasn't been picked yet

i don't know if i should pick for him
for a previous round?

often a GM goes in a different direction in a following round if they get the guy they want in the previous round

if he didn't leave any leading instructions then his shortlist for a PAST round should not be used for THIS round

he has a clock, let's let it tick...

The Maple Leafs select:

Leaf Lander said:
#15 tomas kaberle
Tomas Kaberle was drafted 204th overall in 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tomas has become an all round star on the blue line in the Mecca of hockey. Kabs has superior hockey sense and this allows him to play with a healthy self-confidence and collects points because he possesses tremendous hockey smarts and has the ability to find his teammates on the ice. A fluid elegant swift skater, he can wheel with the puck and loves to join the attack. Is an excellent accurate passer.Tomas Kaberle provides constant support for his team while becoming one of the top defencemen in the league. He is now 4th all time highest scoring defender for the blue and white.

That's 4.2 per team... I've got my share! 6 in total.

BM67 has only 9? I was sure he had a lot more than that.

And.... I know exactly who you are talking about. I'm sure we all have our excuses for not taking him. I know I do. As a group, though, it's impossible to fathom that 500+ picks in, someone hasn't taken him.

Actually 12, he missed Bill Cook, Ace Bailey and Jack Walker. 13, if you count Kennedy, who started his career during WWII.

Looking at the list, I see several guys who shouldn't be there, so I guess we'll need a recount.

 Kennedy is purposely not on the list because he started his career in the 40's.

The list is of pre-WWII careers, guys who had at least a few significant years in the 1930's or earlier.

point out the slight adjustments needed to the list please: who on the list wasn't from the 1930's or earlier? (there are borderline cases like Apps Sr. started in 1936, won the Calder in 37 was into his fourth season when the decade ended), but I don't see a single guy on this list who even began his pro career after 1939.

The Seals select C Russel "Dubbie" Bowie.
An accomplished stickhandler who credited his skill to employing an unusually short stick, he was cited in many all-star lists as one of the very best forwards of hockey's first half-century.

The Secrets found the perfect player to fit a few particular needs.

- Solid goalie
- Can absolutely deliver in the clutch if needed
- Knew what it was to be the backup
- First european picked by the Secrets -- We had more oceanians than europeans...

Well, he's actually our 10th forward, but thanks for the praise, anyway. I like Bruce as a 4th line power forward who can slot in at any position. I'm not much of one for sentimentality, but it also pleases me that TC and I are the first (I believe) to reunite the Stuart boys.

I really thought he was your 13th forward. Of course he can be a regular player...
