As a longtime Capitals I liked Bobby very much. But he's not at all two-way in an all-time context.

He had juts two half-decent seasons followed by just one great year, scoring 50+ goals and making his only all-star game appearance.

I know, but he's certainly not a guy you can write off as having no offensive talent at all. I obviously see him as more of a defensive guy, but he can't be ignored as a potential threat to score from time to time. Sort of like a certain active defensive line forward from my favorite squad(who I actually don't think would be a bad pick in this context).

No, I got it. And, while I won't necessarily say he's not better, he's certainly not much better and for what I wanted, Carpenter fit better. Definitely more offensive upside and a centerman, which both to me were more important aspects of his game.
