Postgame Podcast: Kings vs Blue Jackets (Game 56) & A Chat w/ Jack Han

I didn't see @All The Kings Men mention this episode, but having just listened to this again, I was struck again on the deep the discussion with Jack Han (@JhanHky) the independent coaching consultant and "Former NHL analyst/AHL coach".

I went and read Jack's substack article, How LAK Creates Offense - The ideas behind the Kings' leap, which mentioned what I've been seeing, DZ Breakout: Get off the wall, change side. I actually signed up for the trial and decided to read a bunch more and consider staying subscribed.

Did this episode and interview stick out for anyone else?

It stuck out for me! I loved it! I never know how hard I should push episodes on here. I like being able to participate here and there but I don't want to just be an overbearing link machine.

I found Jack's insight in the King's 2-1-2 forecheck to be really fascinating:
How LAK Creates Offense

Off a dump-in, the first two forwards attack simultaneously, with F2 tight to F1 instead of sprinting the opposite side of the rink. F3 loiters high in the zone and shades toward the strong side.

I'm assuming he addresses the 1-2-2 in the Tactics 2021 Yearbook.

As a 30+ year hockey fan, I don't often learn new things about hockey, but from that interview with Jack Han I learned at least 2 or 3 new things about the game, great guest!
