It's kind of sad seeing him stand in between Ovechkin and Crosby. He's several years younger than both of them and isn't even playing anymore.

I thought about this too. Injuries? His ex? No interest from clubs? I'm just guessing at this point...

This father and son moment with the announcer and Coyotes player was nice.

I mean, the ASG was getting boring back in the day.

They're doing it wrong but something needed to change.
The all star game itself was always boring. The skills competition used to be a legitimately good event until they messed with it.

They should keep the same events and historical scoring so you can see how current players match up with guys from 20 years ago. They used to do that with the hardest shot when guys would try to top Iafrate, MacInnis, etc.

It’s just dumb and innocent entertainment. The mainboard and Twitter are being completely overdramatic like it’s a serious event.

But the hardest shot is by far the best event. It’s always disappointing they have like 5 or 6 guys and the event lasts 10 minutes, but they spend 35 mins on something silly

Did they actually do the Hardest Shot?

It felt like I blinked and I missed it.

No one said that they had to be in the NHL, lol. What's wrong with having a women's league on par with the NHL?
Nothing, absolutely nothing. I must've misread that, I didn't see the part where you said a league on par with the NHL somehow. My apologies.

Somehow Pettersen shot it 103.2 and won.

Just saw the clip of Sid, Ovi and Ovi Jr lol. The skills competition isn't for me but that was really cool to watch, like they've come full circle in the late stages of their careers.

Lol all good, I was just confused. I wasn't sure if I said something that made it sound like that

only had 6 shooters - 2 shots ea. it was over in 5 min... you know probably the best event of the whole competition.

This was the worst skills comp ever. I think it was campier than Battle of the Network stars. Felt more like the Price is Right NHL version. Surprised there wasn't a Plinko with a puck event.

What was wrong with a big field of hardest shooters? What was wrong with the puck handling course? What was wrong with the accuracy contest actually counting accuracy not time? 4 for 4 should always beat 4 for 5 even if they're faster. Insanity.

They should put targets like this out during the hardest shot...

I remember they used to do rapid fire. 2 players on each side of the goalie shooting one after the other. Guess pads and the goalies themselves got too big to make that event fun anymore. Anyway, I can honestly watch the accuracy shooting event the entire time. That's always been my favorite. I was at the Devils own skills competition and remember Claude Lemieux going 4 for 4. Fun times.

Who was it that got into it during an All
Star game? Like I believe they were putting checks on each other and all… was it Theo Fluery and Scott Stevens?

I didn't watch a single minute of this nonsense. No interest in gimmicks from a shit league.

What was the point of the Tkachucks in sunglasses with beach chairs pretending to take a breakaway at a revived Roberto Luongo? Clown show literally.

I expected the ghosts of George Jessel (for anyone who remembers who he was, the Master of Ceremonies par excellence) and Gracie Burns and George Allen to put in an appearance with a comedy routine.

McDavid going 4 for 4 in under 10 seconds and Nurse Forsberging Shesterkin were the lone highlights. I’m sure it’s the old man in me now as I approach 35 lol but I miss the way the skills competition used to be.

"Surprised there wasn't a Plinko with a puck event."

I read this during my morning coffee and choked a little.

Man, this board in general has been coming up with some gems lately...I think the Devil's winning more made everyone a lot more funny.
