Never in a million years did I have Zach hitting 80 on my bingo card for the season.

Hell if you told Zach when Panarin hit 80 that some day he'd hit 80 himself, not because of Panarin but with Z himself leading the team....idk if he even would've believed you..

He does deserve the break. The 4 Nations was a lot when not getting any break this season. He played a TON of minutes. He led the league on average TOI by 1:01 over 2nd place Quinn Hughes.

Congrats to Zach! Well-deserved and these are the clear 3 nominees. (Yes, Slavin could also be considered if there was an award that was only focused on defensive defensemen but that has not historically been the case for the Noris.)

I don't think Z will win, but that doesn't take away from his banner year.

I thought Z had a legit shot at winning it until some point in March. He and Hughes faded a bit down the stretch and Makar got better.

This felt like "The Year of Three Norris'" because all three players had what would have been Norris winning seasons in some other years.
