Wow Kyrgios took out Nadal last night in Acapulco. I saw Nadal win the first set and figured it was over

3 MP's saved in the final set TB. And Kyrgios being Kyrgios of course ;)

He's such an arsehole but wow, what a comeback and also a choke by Rafa. Rafa was up 6-4 in the breaker and throws in a double fault on his serve to give up match point.

Also, that handshake from Rafa!!!

Yeah, I don't think Nadal is a big fan of Nick

Djere takes the first set 6-2. He had 2 BP's and converted both.

Felix gets the early break in the 2nd. Up 2-0.

Awesome!

Andreescu's run ended last night in the SF.

Both now in the top 60.

I'd forgotten about his little run in Indian Wells last year. He'll have a few point to defend I guessing, but with his ranking now he'll be playing in enough high point events that it shouldn't matter too much.

So, with his ranking where it is, he's probably done with the Challenger events. He's had a good run through though, with a lot of competitive matches under his belt. Shapovalov probably was hurt a bit by bypassing this stage.

Yeah he'll have about 30-40 points to defend. If he can't defend, it won't hurt his ranking too much.

His ranking should be good enough for all the big clay season tournaments.

And that's an excellent point about Shapovalov. The Challenger tour is a grind, but it gives valuable experience.

We still need to remember that Denis is still a teenager. I think maturity is lacking in his game but that will come with age. But at the same time, he's 19 and in the top 25. Very impressive.

I have no doubt Felix and Denis will be top 10 in the not so distant future. (assuming they stay healthy)

Roger takes the first set against Tsitsipas, 6-4. Fed almost stumbled at the end, but played great tennis otherwise. His serve is really working and he is rushing the net every chance he gets which has resulted in Tsitsipas rushing some shots. Roger's inside out forehand has also been dynamite. I actually picked Tsitsipas to win this match, but he really needs to raise his game to have a chance.

2nd set: Stefanos plays a little better, pretty well in fact, but Roger pounces on a late break opportunity and a close set is quickly over.

Glad to be wrong on this one.

Yes, no knock on Shapovalov who's doing incredibly well for a young age. I just think that Felix has managed to get in a lot of competitive matches despite a lot of injury troubles.

I'm also wondering with Felix now getting into more ATP level tournaments, if we'll see the two of them in doubles matches. Neither will likely want to detract from their single careers, but, I'm hoping they get the odd wildcard entry into doubles tournaments to fine tune for Davis Cup.

I also think if they're at the same tournaments, they'll help push and motivate each other.

I think the only time Denis and Felix would play doubles would be at the Rogers Cup. It will be interesting to see if their friendship stays strong once the competition between them gets more serious.

Krygios defeats 3 top 10 players on the way to winning in Acapulco, giving his remaining fans hope that he will be more focused in the future.
