Denis gets it done in the first match.

Has any country ever put forward a younger Davis Cup team, I wonder?

Hard to imagine. Russia has a 14 year old and Switzerland has a 15 year old called up, but they aren't likely to play. Canada, on the other hand, has teenagers playing every match.

The average age is probably not that bad as Polansky and Dancevic are technically named to the team. But if you count those that played the actual matches it's unlikely that a team of teenagers has played an entire tie at a Men's level.

This team is a Ben Sigouin short of the 2015 Junior team that won.

Why did I think Davis Cup was best of five? I was surprised when they shook hands.

Format changed for this year. The qualifiers are this weekend. Then they have a week of round robin and 'playoffs' in November in a 'neutral' location. And yes it's not best of 3 and in 2 days, they play the double and reverse singles tomorrow.

I hate these changes.

Further to that the Finals consist of the 12 qualifier winners from this weekend. Last years 4 semi-finalists, and two 'Wild Card' nations (GB and Argentina this year).

So the only time you will play a 'home tie' is if you happen be the host for you qualifier, or the host nation for the finals. DC in Canada is going to be extremely rare.

Felix broken again. From 2 points away from winning the set (he was *2-5 30:30) to losing 5 straight games to lose the set....Klizan must have turned his game up (unable to watch so only following scores right now)

At least Denis and Felix won't be tired after playing grueling 5 set matches.

Well they lost a tough one in doubles this morning. So they need both singles now. Denis up first against Klizan.
