All-Purpose Prospect Thread v17.0

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Lardis and Pridham both healthy scratches today in final regular season games for Brantford and Kitchener respectively...Both teams resting sone top playets for the upcoming playoff games..
Teams want to avoid injury to key players in a meaningless game forvthe final standings..
In the Q ,Monctin healthy-scratched Caleb Drsnoyers for their final 2 games on the regular season.

Saginaw woukd be crazy to not rest Misa I their final game today ...they already rested Zayne Oarekh ladt game prior to this one.

So this practice of scratching healthy keybojayers is bad for maximizing season stats for top players ..but from thevteam perspective ,why risk injury ina nothing game as playoff opponents already determined anyway.

Erie vs Saginaw more than likely will feature the next Blackhawks 1st rder from (2025) Misa or Schaefer

Brad Berry out at North Dakota so that would feed into any transfer speculation about Boisvert (personally haven’t seen anything about it but I’d imagine it’s a distinct possibility now)
Was wondering how he made it this long to be honest. That program needs a better coach and recruiter. I hope Boisvert goes to a program that will let him blossom and have some linemates for that as well. not knocking his at ND per se but he was pretty much solo it seemed.

I think the NCHC is my favorite conference for developing prospects but selfishly I would like him to come to the east coast so I could see him in person.

I had expected Hawks to sign Domenic James by now...have heard no announcement yet..Did the NCAa give him an extra year due to his missing all but 2 games in the 23/24 season.?..on latecFebrurary there were articles that Hawks would sign him to an ELC right after Minnesota -Duluth sesson ends....which it has ...but still nonews of a signing yet. Have the plans changed? ?

I'm starting to get just a little concerned about Dominic James as I feel like if he were going to sign, he would have by now. This is how you can have 'too many' draft picks as he might see an easier path to the NHL with a different team.

He's going to have to compete with Slaggert, Dach, Greene, Hayes, Savoie, Thompson, Moore, and Lardis for what might be available bottom 6 roles. The alternative for him is just wait until August and he can sign with any team he wants. I'm sure he'll have interest throughout the league. This phenomenon is exactly why KD has been doing trades like moving picks to go from 20 to 18 or whatever.

if James isn't willing to fight it out then whatever. Not like this org is going to live and die by signing him.
I won't either. I'm just trying to drive the point that having more draft picks isn't necessarily better than having less draft picks because too many draft picks creates this kind of problem. It's by no means the worst kind of problem to have but when people scream that we didn't sell Donato for a 2nd, or when we trade 2 2nds to move up 2 spots or whatever we did in the Boisvert thing, this is the reasoning behind those kinds of moves.

I legit do not know if Dominic James would even make it in a Top 25 Prospects list for us. He's someone I honestly keep forgetting exists.

I'd rather us sign him than not, but I won't lose sleep over it if he walks. Almost certainly not an NHL player in the future.
