Verhaeghe’s a blue collar type of player who’s skill really took off in the NHL and Kyrous more of a balanced attacker who drives play

I really struggle to think of one for Lardis, players of his archetype don’t often make it to the show unfortunately. I think he has to develop other dimensions to his game in order to carve out a long NHL career and at that point his comps/play style will probably be different if that makes sense

Right now, maybe like a Kubalik? Smaller/softer version but quicker. Guys who have an elite release who you don’t notice for much of the game until all of a sudden they have 2 goals

Kubalik ain't a bad comp with the caveat you mention of being quicker, which he uses as much for defensive coverage as he does offensively.

We’ll see soon enough in Rockford what he’s all about. Until then, it’s all speculation. We do know that he’s doing well overall, and still progressing nicely.

Not sure what thread to put this in..but Cam Allen,a 20 year old dnan with the London Knights was arrested for DUI in a single vehicle car crash where he also left the scene of the crash and failed to report it to police..a passenger was hurt and taken to hospital....butvthe kicker is this happened at 3am last Saturday morning after a Friday night home game in London wherevthec50/50 charity draw was insupoirtvof MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving!...the tragic irony of this is beyond comprehension)..

Allen is a 2023 5rh round pick of the Washington Capitals.

Stjernborg looks like a good fourth line player. Seen few of his games in SHL and hes were good defensively and motor that never stops. Hes not tall but build like fire hydrant.

I'd sign both Harding and Kelley. There's room in the AHL for waiver-exempt DMen there. Kelley is a RHD.

Had SJ not lucked out and hit the Jackpot with Igor Chernyshov falling to the at #33 ...Hawks fans might wonder What If SJ had selected sone other player and what if Hawks had kept #34 (and#50)...instead of trading these 2 pickscto Carolina forv#27 to move up to draft Vanacker earlier?

Woukd Hawks if they had kept#34 and if SJ had taken another prospect at #33 have taken Chernyshov?

We will never know.

However what we do know is that maybe Vanacker is worth the #34 and#50 tgat were available after SJ took Chernyshov off the board.. BUT STILlL we should ask ,HOW the F***K could KD andvtge Hawks not taken Chernyshov at #27 instead of Vanacker.

Chernyshov only has played 6 OHL games so far but playing wing to Michael Misa since Saginaw put hom on their top line immediately upon joining their team,he has been destroying the league ...10g 8a +4

Projects to 38g 31a = 69 pts in 23GPif he stays healthy to play out remaining OHL regular season for Saginaw.

Yes he is a 19 year old.. and Yess he can feed off Michael Misa in an unstoppable duo ..
Still you can tell he is too good to be pkaying inthe OHL..

At 6'5 205 hexwill go straight into the top line with Celebrini inSJ next season.

Vanacker isxa good prospect but not top libe material...Chernyshov looks every bitvtop linevpiwer wibger with great hockey sense finishing around the net.

But do they getboffvtge hook becausecall other NHL teams passed on Chernyshov till SJ took him at #33?

Vanacker will compete for a 2ndvkine winger spot ..but Chernyshov looks like a top line elite winger solution with the size,skill, finishing and power game that could have been a winger solution for Bedard on Hawks top line..

So contrast Chernyshov "falling" to SJ at #33 in round 2 vs.the excitement hype about Moore "falling " to the Hawks at #19 in roundv1 I his draft...

And now?

The Moore hype turns int a fizzle as his ceiling drops to a mere #3C candidate as we ask where is the scoring?

The Chernyshov belated excitement hype though seems now as teams all realize tgeir scouts missed the boat and SJ laughs akk the way to the bank.
They also have another big winger in Haltunen..

You can see a future super line with Chernyshov and Haltunen on the wings and Celebrini in the middle which should becone easily a top NHL scoringbkibe and deadly on the Po..

With tge Hawk and Bedard thise 2 missing top.line Big and good scoring winger solutions are nowhere in sight ..

Hawksxsteength sure is in D prospects and if we getvtge #1 we should still draft Schaefer..the clear BPA of this dradt..avery soecial talent on D who can do it all.

But tgat woukd mean the missing 2 top line solutionas Bedard's wingers still would be nowhere in sight.

If Hawks get #2 overall draft spot they should draft Micael Misa...woukd be like having ac1C playing 2C if Bedard is top line C.

Yes ..IF Rantanen or Marner hit free agency Hawks could BUY one of them (maybe) by paying top dollar to land a too ufa solution..but itcseems to me the re-buildvis going to continue as a SLOW re-build..The wingercsolutions for Bedard still seem tgawarted to future drafts and tge re-buildctakes longer till we fill those spots with our own Chernyshov types.

Tgec1cthing Hawks have way to moch of are undersized speedy forwards who eitger do not score enough or can in junios but due to size
are not goibg to be strong enough defensively to get pucks back or winning board battles vs.NHL pros abd so not be able to toltvthevice so that Bedard can thrive with easier open shot chances.

We alk know what type of size and sjill/finishing combo wingers Bedard really needs....orxat least 1vof hisxwingers must be that type..the model woukd be exactly Chernyshov.

Many were considering Martine for such a sokution..but his scoring has dropped compared to his first half...So a bit of concern...

Another possibility is maybe if Hawjs got #1,you tradecdown to #2 with SJ.

Then go all in on Rantanen or Marner to help Bedard...or fill the Bedard needs next draft or next ufa .

Either take Schaefer at#1 or use schaefer to get 2 solutions ..either Chernyshov +Bedard or Chernyshov +Misa....

The poibtvs SJ has 2 centers already in Celebrini and Smith..they realky do not need Misa as a Center..Maybe he could play wing.. but they mostly would prefer to bolster tgeir back end on D..

POINT IS if Hawks get #1 the Schaefer plum could be used to make a deal with SjJso that both teams get what they want and need....
