Stop trying to change lanes. That's not at all what your original post said. You attacked the player, not the potential construction of the team.
My bad for miscommunicating. The whole argument I have with regard smurfy players is roster construction. I like all 3 of the small players. I had soured a bit on Nazar coming into the season but him lighting up the AHL has me back on board.

Do you remember when I tried to trade Kantserov+ for Wright on the main boards and was arguing about how good he is?

I have been a Kantserov fan for a while.

I don't mind taking small players but my personal limit is two in your top 6.

Hell no but great post

It's not the fact that they're picking smurfs it's the quantity.

3 in the top 6 is too many. (Bedard/Kantserov/Nazar)

And Moore is 5-11 so there's that.

God I thought you were kidding with the above.

It's not about the height - does he win battles, does he go to the dirty areas/in front of the net, is he a perimeter player, who is he on the boards, is he physical? These are the deciding factors in if a player plays 'big' or 'small'.

Think of Stroke vs Brayden Point (although I feel like this is always pointed out to you).

And by all accounts btw Kantserov seems to be play a bigger game. Nazar too. Moore too. Even Bedard is absolutely fine in those aspects.

Literally zero issues with this in our prospect pool. We also have big boys like Boisvert, Pridham and a bunch of 3rd line projecting forwards with plus size who will provide even more physical tools.

Strome vs Point?

Yeah I get it. But at some point you just get bullied.

Kantserov’s development curve has been crazy. Metallurg started using him more last year down the stretch last year once he signed the extension and he had a really nice postseason with them. This year he’s just exploded. Nice part is even with that extension he only has one more year after this one

Funny part is, he’s like a well kept secret. No one is talking about him except HFHawks.
Lack of Junior International exposure plays a big part of it. Not sure Kucherov was even going to get drafted before he lit up the U18 out of seemingly nowhere. After a couple of good U20s, he was on everyone's radar for sure.

Maybe I shouldn't be so petty with the holidays upcoming but question (especially for Canadian Blackhawk / hockey fans : Would you deal Nazar or Oliver Moore for that incredible Phenomenon That has taken the entire hockey world by storm Easton Cowan ? Sorry I cant resist (Toronto Media made me do this)

Pass on Cowan...but I woukd trade Nazar or Moore and our Leafs' first to mpvevupto ac6 to ten spot in thisx2025 draft IF ourctarget still on the boardat thevpuck we traded up for...That target has gotvo be Caleb Denoyers who also brings in addition to his motor, scoring and playnaking stands out in this draft for his faceoff dominance...over 63% in thexQ...Not a smurfcatviver 6'1and you also getcax2 way game...perfect Cebter for thev2bdvkinecwith Bedardsas C in all aspects except takibg draws for line1...

Tgevorobkem is that Nazar gettibgbkiljedvin the dot Ndxwe know Bedardxstrughles on draws...Cannot have 2 surf C's who cannot win enough udrWs...and cannot have 2 smirk Cs eve if they coukd win draws..

Then adding smaller skilled wingers....Lardis,Kantserov...the lineup gets too small overall...

Do we Need bigger Centers ...and cebterscwho can win a lot of draws as well as score.

I think Kantserov has more skill than Nazar. Higher offensive ceiling but certainly a lower floor, he doesn't have Nazar's bulldog-ish like possession game that should guarantee him a role in the NHL for a long time.

I think he's our best shot at a like a 90+ point forward from our current crop of prospects. Odds arent high but the possibility is there in a way that I dont know if i see with anyone else. Him and Rinzel are KDs best picks so far.
