Stupidity of this bullshit aside... Trying to find the logic in the referee lighting the guy on fire.
People are apparently saying that because it’s a no DQ match, you can’t lose by coercing the referee to do what you tell him to do.

This is the wrestling of masochists and drug addicts lol.

Side note: Think the best justification I've ever heard was from Danhausen on why he pours teeth in his opponent's mouth. "Because you already have teeth in your mouth so you can't really get disqualified for it." It was so good that even Cornette popped for the hokey bullshit because he made it make sense.

Danhausen’s up there with the comedy wrestling GOATs imo, I find him to be genuinely funny. Seems like a good guy in real life too.

That trashbag promotion’s spot may have been the single dumbest spot I’ve ever seen so credit to them on that

You've gotta wonder how the owner of whatever bingo hall they're in doesn't see his drop ceiling nearly go up in flames and ban them from ever renting it again.

That aside from questioning the mentality of, "I'm going to break a few bones and have 2nd degree burns to make 50 drunks chant 'Holy shit', the internet call me out for being a f***ing idiot, and still nobody will know my name."

WWE fans on Twitter calling CMLL a minor league on Twitter when shitting on Mistico is so stupid and ignorant it's hilarious. CMLL is the oldest existing promotion in the world that runs the same buildings in the same city every week going back decades. As hot as WWE is if they ran the same building once every week for a month by the 4th show they wouldn't be able to give away tickets.

Impact is so weird… I don’t watch it much at all anymore but I’ll read the results. I’ll never understand what they do with Moose and why they never pushed him to the moon

They did, but he would get hot, then idk just never really had a great character to me...I tune in sporadically...

It's hard to get excited for it when there's 100 ppl in a dark crowd...I can't believe they can't pull at least an NXT sized crowd

Here's the official announcement from TNA:

Welcome Back, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling

TNA Returns on January 13, 2024 At The Hard To Kill Pay-Per-View From The Palms Casino Resort In Las Vegas, Nevada

TORONTO CHICAGO – October 21, 2023 – Anthem Sports & Entertainment, a global, multi-platform media company, announced today that its professional wrestling company, IMPACT Wrestling, is returning to its iconic Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling name, at “Hard To Kill,” its first pay-per-view event of 2024, which will originate for the first time ever from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The announcement was made Saturday night at the end of the “Bound For Glory” pay-per-view, which aired live around the world in front of a standing-room-only crowd in Chicago.

TNA will launch 2024 with Hard To Kill on Saturday, January 13, with a second night of action-packed professional wrestling – the “Snake Eyes Extravaganza Show” – at The Palms on Sunday, January 14. The Snake Eyes Extravaganza Show will be taped to air on the company’s flagship weekly TV show, Impact!, airing every Thursday night on AXS TV (8 p.m. EST).

“We still hear the ‘TNA’ chants wherever we go,” said IMPACT Wrestling President Scott D’Amore. “Fans have longed for TNA Wrestling, so that’s what we’re bringing back in 2024: TNA Wrestling, we’re back!”

Tickets for both Hard To Kill on January 13 and the Snake Eyes Extravaganza Show on January 14 will be on-sale on Friday, November 4, at www.impactwrestling.com

Company officials confirmed that the new year will launch a new-look TNA Wrestling that runs from the entrance ramp to turnbuckles in the ring to larger, more prestigious venues and much, much more. Further details on the TNA Wrestling return will be revealed on Tuesday, October 24, when D’Amore sits down for an exclusive interview with Tom Hannifan that will air live on IMPACT’s Facebook page, starting at 12noon EST. The Q&A will include questions from worldwide pro wrestling media.

TNA Wrestling launched in the summer of 2002 and has long been known as the most innovative professional wrestling company in the world. TNA is known for its high-risk, action-packed X Division matches that have run with one simple motto: It’s not about weight limits, it’s about no limits. Stars of the X Division have included Chris Sabin, with a record 10 title reigns; A.J. Styles, the first-ever champion; along with Jay Lethal, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Petey Williams, Frankie Kazarian and Trey Miguel, among others.

TNA is also the home of the prestigious Knockouts Division, widely regarded as the best women’s division in all professional wrestling. The Knockouts Division features Trinity, Deonna Purrazzo, Mickie James, Jordynne Grace, Gisele Shaw, Masha Slamovich, KiLynn King, Jessicka and Courtney Rush, among others. Legendary past Knockouts include Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, The Beautiful People, Taya Valkyrie, ODB, Tara, Traci Brooks and so many others.

More from today's pwinsider.com:

When 2024 arrives, Impact Wrestling will be no more.

In its place, TNA returns.

The big change was announced tonight during a video package at the end of Bound for Glory that as of January, they will revert to their original name, TNA, Total Nonstop Action.

This was a move that wasn't made without a lot of planning and at one point, the announcement was tentatively slated to be made back at Slammiversary before it was pushed back to Bound for Glory this evening. The final decision to flip the switch back to TNA was locked in about 2-3 weeks back.

PWInsider.com is told by Impact/TNA sources that the decision was made for several reasons.

One, it would "unite" the fragmented history of the promotion, which at different times was known as TNA, then Global Force Wrestling, then finally Impact Wrestling.

A secondary factor in making the decision was that a number of the company's international partners preferred the TNA name and at times, were still using the name internally.

We are also told that the company also quietly polled long-term fans of the promotion earlier this year and learned that many of them stated they preferred the TNA name. Fans who have chanted "TNA" since the promotion returned to the road have also been a factor in the company thinking about making the change and then finally flipping the switch back.

There was a lot of TNA nostalgia several years ago when the promotion brought back the TNA title with Moose as titleholder with the original plan for the company to revive TNA as a separate TV series and possibly promotion out of a TNA reunion PPV but the COVID-19 pandemic stalled those plans before they were dropped. Instead of two different promotions and TV series, instead TNA has returned as the name of the company.

The plan is for Impact to close out the remainder of the year and then transition over to the TNA name in January with the Hard to Kill PPV in Las Vegas being the first official TNA show. The UK tour will still utilize the Impact Wrestling name.

Going forward, the TV series will then be known as TNA Impact Wrestling.

I am under the impression they will return to using the old logos as of January.

There will be new TNA Championship belts rolled out with the current titleholders using those belts instead. The new belts have already been crafted and produced. They aren't likely to be used until January.

There are zero plans to return to the old six-sided ring, PWInsider.com is told. This wasn't even discussed as just about every talent still with the company who ever worked in the six-sided ring found the traditional four-sided ring to be easier on their bodies.

We are also told that the company intends to move forward with current storylines, talent and style but utilize the TNA name going forward when they hit 2024. The plan is to take all of moves Anthem has made to improve the company since taking it over from Dixie Carter several years back and continue onward as TNA Impact Wrestling.

So apparently the NWA had a deal to air their NWA Powerr show and a " behind the scenes " reality show on the CW network but they might have already screwed this deal up.

from today's ewrestlingnews.com:

As we previously reported here on eWn, it is believed that the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has signed a TV deal with The CW Network. With that being said, NWA President Billy Corgan has not confirmed the news.

A new report from Haus of Wrestling says the NWA and the CW’s relationship may already be strained.

During the promotion’s recent “Samhain” pay-per-view event, there was a segment that saw Father James Mitchell partying with several women. At one point during the segment (see below), Mitchell can be seen ‘snorting’ a white substance. It’s heavily implied that the substance is cocaine.

It is said that the segment has caused several higher ups at the CW Network to become upset with the NWA. Those same people are now actively pushing for NWA programming to air on the CW app only, and not on television as previously planned. Billy Corgan was reportedly told that CW executives would not watch the pay-per-view events and were only concerned with the television program.

Following the cocaine spot taking place at “Samhain,” the CW Network received a ton of backlash on social media that got their attention. A source now believes there’s a “90% chance” that the NWA will air only on the CW app and not television.

As far as the reality show is concerned, the CW Network is not paying for that. Corgan is paying for it out of his own pocket and is the executive producer. The CW Network would attempt to profit from the program by selling ads. Several CW Network executives were excited about the reality show because they learned that Corgan’s wedding would be part of it.

Finally, it was added that Corgan is hopeful that some additional exposure on the network will lead to higher ticket and merchandise sales for the NWA.

NWA has enough history behind it that I hope someone even a little more competent than Billy Pumpkins buys it and makes it a competent wrestling company that doesn't have a f***ing bloated elephant as their world champ for half a year.
